Caso tenham andado distraídos, na semana passada foi atingido uma espécie de record de eventos com tiara consecutivos. Entre visitas de estado e jantares diplomáticos, a verdade é que tivemos muitas alegrias no departamento do esplendor real. Uma das visitas de estado mais aguardada dos últimos tempos aconteceu na semana passada (eu optei por falar da visita de estado dos reis belgas a Portugal por razões óbvias!). Willem-Alexander e Máxima da Holanda visitaram o Reino Unido a convite da Rainha Elizabeth II. Quando a Rainha da excentricidade se encontra com a Rainha do Cerimonial no Palácio mais famoso do Mundo, o resultado só poderia ser épico.
One of the most awaited state visits of recent times happened last week (I chose to talk about the state visit of the Belgian King and Queen to Portugal for obvious reasons!). Como todas as expectativas faziam prever, a Rainha Máxima da Holanda voltou a usar a Tiara Stuart, mas desta vez com o ENORME diamante que lhe dá nome. Ainda este ano durante uma visita de estado ao Luxemburgo, Máxima já tinha levado esta tiara para uma voltinha experimental. Foi a primeira vez que o famoso diamante Stuart foi visto desde o reinado da Rainha Juliana e claro que o seu uso no Reino Unido foi propositado, dado este diamante de 40 quilates ter pertencido ao Rei William III (Príncipe de Orange) e à sua esposa a Rainha Mary II que reinaram na Inglaterra.
As all expectations predicted, Queen Máxima of the Netherlands wore the Stuart Tiara once again, but this time with the HUGE diamond that gives it its name. Earlier this year during a state visit to Luxembourg, Maxima had already taken this tiara for an experimental stroll. It was the first time that the famous Stuart diamond was seen since the reign of Queen Juliana and of course that its use in the United Kingdom was purposeful, given this 40 carat diamond belonged to King William III (Prince of Orange) and his wife the Queen Mary II who reigned in England.

Máxima conjugou a tiara com outras peças imponentes de diamantes e um vestido que, apesar de ser uma obra de arte, não me convenceu. Por incrível que possa parecer acho que este vestido não deixou brilhar estas jóias como deveria e envelheceu bastante a nossa Máxi. É a minha opinião.
Máxima combined the tiara with other imposing pieces of diamonds and a dress that, despite being a work of art, did not convince me. Incredible as it may seem I think this dress did not let these jewels shine as it should have, and it has aged our Máxi girl, quite a lot. It's my opinion.

Do lado do anfitriões e de branco, a Rainha Elizabeth II usou a sua tiara favorita, The Girls of Great Britain & Irland e a Duquesa da Cornualha brilhou com a sua Greville Tiara. No seu todo, Camilla foi para mim a melhor vestida da noite.
On the other side and wearing white, Queen Elizabeth II wore her favorite tiara, The Girls of Great Britain & Irland and the Duchess of Cornwall shone with her Greville Tiara. Looking for the bigger picture, Camilla was the best dressed of the night for me.

Também presente no Banquete a nossa querida Catherine, Duquesa de Cambridge. A Duquesa brilhou na escolha das jóias optando por usar novamente a linda tiara Lover's Knot que foi perfeitamente conjugada com ums brincos de pérolas e uma estreia: o colar de casamento da Rainha Alexandra, empréstimo da Rainha. Para aumentar o esplendor foi a primeira vez que vimos a Duquesa de Cambridge a usar a sua Ordem de Família, aparentemente oferecida no ano passado pela Rainha. Perante esta beleza, vou sugerir que esqueçamos o vestido, sim?
Also present at the Banquet was our dear Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. The Duchess shone on the jewel department by wearing again the lovely Lover's Knot Tiara that was perfectly coupled with a pearl earrings and a debut: the Queen Alexandra's wedding necklace. To enhance all the splendor , it was the first time we saw the Duchess of Cambridge using her Family Order, apparently offered last year by the Queen. Given all this beauty, I will suggest that we forget all about this dress, right?

Mas tivemos mais tiaras nesta noite: a Princesa Mabel de Orange-Nassau, cunhada do Rei holandês vive em Londres e foi convidada para o banquete. Mabel usou uma Tiara de safiras que também pode ser usada como colar. A peça pertence aos cofres reais holandeses.
But we had more tiaras that night: Princess Mabel of Orange-Nassau, sister-in-law of the Dutch King lives in London and was also invited to the banquet. Mabel wore a Sapphire Tiara that can also be used as a necklace. The piece belongs to the Dutch royal vault.

A Condessa de Wessex usou a Five Aquamarine Tiara, apesar do fraco registo fotográfico da sua presença como apontando do blog da HRH The Countess of Wessex. A Princesa Michael de Kent deslumbrou com a Kent Festoon Tiara que combinou com pérolas e águas-marinhas.

Na Quarta-feira foi a vez da Dinamarca brilhar no tradicional banquete oferecido pela Rainha Margrethe II a membros do Governo, Parlamento dinamarquês e a membros dinamarqueses com representação no Parlamento Europeu.
On Wednesday it was Denmark's turn to shine in the traditional banquet offered by Queen Margrethe II to members of the Government, the Danish Parliament and Danish members with representation in the European Parliament.

E foi com um vistoso vestido rosa coral e a sua Floral Aigrette Tiara que conjugou com outras jóias da sua coleção que a Rainha dos dinamarqueses brilhou. A Princesa da Coroa Mary voou a solo ( Frederik estava na Austrália nos Invictus Games 2018) com a sua Tiara do casamento e trouxe-nos de novo este maravilhoso vestido azul escuro (que na realidade é uma saia e um top). Marie usou também brilhos pretos e a sua habitual Princess Dagmar Floral Tiara. A Princesa Benedikte também optou um um vestido escuro com brilhos e uma Tiara Floral.

E da Dinamarca voamos para a Noruega onde no dia seguinte o Rei Harald V e a Rainha Sonja ofereceram um Banquete de Gala para membros do Parlamento no Palácio Real. Depois das noticias sobre o estado de saúde da Princesa da Coroa Mette-Marit, muitos recearam que a esposa do Príncipe herdeiro Haakon não estivesse presente neste jantar.
And from Denmark we flew to Norway where in the next day King Harald V and Queen Sonja offered a Gala Banquet for Members of Parliament in the Royal Palace. After news regarding Crown Princess Mette-Marit's state of health, many feared that the wife of Crown Prince Haakon was not present at this dinner.
Mas foi o medo sem fundamento. A família real norueguesa compareceu em peso, dentro do que é habitual, a este jantar. A Rainha Sonja usou a impressionante Queen Josephine's Diamond Tiara que conjugou com uns longos brincos e um vestido muito bonito em rosa e prata. Mette-Marit estava linda num vestido preto que conjugou com a sua Tiara de Ametistas e o colar do mesmo conjunto. A Princesa Astrid usou a Tiara Vasa e um vestido branco bem ao seu estilo.
But it was fear without foundation. The Norwegian royal family came in by weight, as usual, at this dinner. Queen Sonja wore the stunning Queen Josephine's Diamond Tiara which combined with long earrings and a very beautiful pink and silver dress. Mette-Marit looked beautiful in a black dress that combined with her Amethysts Tiara and the necklace of the same parure. Princess Astrid wore the Vasa Tiara and a white dress that suited her style.
