#NLPT2017 Dia / Day 2
Sim, obviamente que vamos continuar a falar da Visita de Estado que está decorrer de 10-12 de Outubro e que trouxe o Rei e Rainha da Holanda a Portugal. Até porque, depois de ter visto uma "peça jornalística" num certo canal generalista da televisão portuguesa , sobre o primeiro dia desta visita (Sim, SIC estou a falar para vocês!) tomei como ponto de honra falar do que realmente Willem-Alexander e Máxima vieram cá fazer.
E começo por um ponto muito simples que passo literalmente a copiar da Wikipédia. Uma ferramenta acessível a todos nós, inclusive a jornalistas:
Yes, obviously we will continue to talk about the State Visit that is taking place from 10-12 October and which brought the King and Queen of the Netherlands to Portugal. Because, after having seen a "journalistic piece" in a certain generalist channel of the Portuguese television, on the first day of this visit (Yes, SIC I'm talking to you!) I took as a point of honor to talk about what really Willem-Alexander and Máxima came here to do.
And I start with a very simple point that I'm going literally copy from Wikipedia. A tool accessible to all of us, including journalists:
"Visita de Estado": é uma viagem formal de um chefe de Estado ou de Governo a um país estrangeiro, a convite do chefe de Estado deste país. É a mais alta forma de contacto diplomático entre duas nações, simbolizando um reforço das suas relações. Geralmente, as visitas de estado são agendadas para a ratificação ou discussão de tratados entre nações.
"State Visit" means a formal trip by a Head of State or Government to a foreign country, at the invitation of the Head of State of that country. It is the highest form of diplomatic contact between two nations, symbolizing a strengthening of their relations. In general, state visits are scheduled for ratification or discussion of treaties between nations.
Eu acho que os portugueses não querem saber se a Máxima se veste bem ou mal, se gastam muito dinheiro ou não, ou que colégios as filhas dos Reis frequentam. Os portugueses querem saber, o que esta visita e o reforço das relações entre Portugal e Holanda, pode mexer com a vida deles. Em última instância os portugueses poderão querer saber que locais é que os Reis visitaram e porquê, e talvez, mas só talvez, conhecer um pouco mais do que se faz em Portugal. Os portugueses também podem literalmente não querer saber de nada disto, mas ai, mudam de canal. Fica a dica!! Explicar o caso Marquês parece-me muito mais complicado!!!
I think the Portuguese people do not want to know if Maxima dresses well or badly, whether they spend a lot of money or not, or what schools the royal couple's daughters attend. The Portugueses want to know, what this visit and the strengthening of relations between Portugal and the Netherlands, could mix with their lives. Ultimately the Portuguese people may want to know what places the Kings have visited and why, and perhaps, but only perhaps, to know a little more about what is done in Portugal. The Portuguese poeple may also literally not want to know any of this, but then, they change channels. The tip is here! Explaining the Marquês case seems to me much more complicated !!!

No segundo dia em Portugal, o casal real começou a sua agenda com uma visita ao Centro Champalimaud para o Desconhecido. Este instituto possui laboratórios de pesquisa biomédica de alta qualidade e uma clínica avançada para o tratamento de doenças oncológicas. O Centro possui várias parcerias com a Holanda. Willem-Alexander e Máxima passearam pelas instalações e conheceram vários investigadores do Centro.
On the second day in Portugal, the royal couple began their agenda with a visit to the Champalimaud Center for the Unknown. This institute has high quality biomedical research laboratories and an advanced clinic for the treatment of oncological diseases. The Center has several partnerships with the Netherlands. Willem-Alexander and Máxima walked around the premises and met several investigators from the Center.

Depois o casal real rumou até à Universidade de Lisboa onde falaram com alunos sobre o futuro da União Europeia, a migração e os valores partilhados pelos dois países. A Universidade de Lisboa é a maior universidade portuguesa.
Then the royal couple went to the University of Lisbon where they spoke with students about the future of the European Union, the migration and the values shared by the two countries. The University of Lisbon is the largest Portuguese university.
Aqui o Rei e Rainha foram presenteados com uma actuação de uma Tuna Académica ( uma tuna é um conjunto musical composto por alunos de uma determinada academia). A tuna toca instrumentos musicais tradicionais portugueses e vestem os trajes académicos que são únicos para cada universidade portuguesa.
Here the King and Queen were presented with a performance by an Academic Tuna (a tuna is a musical ensemble composed of students of a certain academy). The tuna plays traditional Portuguese musical instruments and they wear the academic costumes that are unique for each Portuguese university.

Durante um almoço de Negócios, o Rei Willem-Alexander e a rainha Máxima conheceram os participantes da missão económica paralela e sua rede portuguesa e testemunharam a assinatura de alguns acordos de cooperação.
No final da actuação o porta-voz do grupo desejou que o casal desfrutasse Portugal e expressou a solidariedade de todos para com a Holanda que não conseguiu a qualificação para o Mundial de Futebol em 2019. O aluno acrescentou que assim, o Rei e a Rainha poderiam torcer por Portugal, ao que Willem-Alexander respondeu: "Sim, vamos fazer isso!".
At the end of the performance the spokesman of the group wished the couple to enjoy Portugal and expressed their solidarity with the Netherlands who did not qualify for the Football World Cup in 2019. The student added that thus, the King and Queen they could cheer for Portugal, to which Willem-Alexander replied: "Yes, let's do this!"
Durante um almoço de Negócios, o Rei Willem-Alexander e a rainha Máxima conheceram os participantes da missão económica paralela e sua rede portuguesa e testemunharam a assinatura de alguns acordos de cooperação.
During a Business lunch, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima met the participants of the parallel economic mission and their Portuguese network and witnessed the signing of some cooperation agreements.

Da parte da tarde, o Rei e a Rainha visitaram a exposição temporária "Rembrandt: Elos Perdidos", patente no Museu Nacional de Arte Antiga em Lisboa. A exposição conta com algumas obras emprestadas pelo museu holandês Rijksmuseum. Do outro, surge um conjunto de obras provenientes das prestigiosas Coleções Reais, onde se observa a relação com Portugal. O casal contou com a companhia do Presidente português.
In the afternoon, the King and Queen visited the temporary exhibition "Rembrandt: Elos Perdidos", at the National Museum of Ancient Art in Lisbon. The exhibition has some works borrowed by the Dutch museum Rijksmuseum. On the other hand, there is a collection of works from the prestigious Royal Collections, where the relationship with Portugal is observed. The couple was joined by the Portuguese presidente on this visit.

Para os eventos do dia, a Rainha holandesa usou um conjunto em que reinam diferentes tons, texturas e acessórios. Numa só palavra: confuso. E fico-me por aqui. Há looks que não merecem muitas palavras.
For the events of the day, the Dutch Queen used a set in which different tones, textures and accessories reign. In one word: confused. And I'll stay here. There are looks that do not deserve many words.

À noite, o Rei e a Rainha convidaram o Presidente da República Portuguesa e alguns convidados para um concerto e recepção, como gesto de gratidão pela hospitalidade oferecida durante a visita do estado. O cantor Nynke Laverman e a cantora de fado Cristina Branco actuaram no Teatro Nacional Dona Maria II em Lisboa.
In the evening, the King and Queen invited the President of the Portuguese Republic and some guests for a concert and reception as a gesture of gratitude for the hospitality offered during the state visit. Singer Nynke Laverman and fado singer Cristina Branco performed at the Dona Maria II National Theater in Lisbon.
Á noite a Rainha Máxima trouxe-nos um vestido voador e o esplendor de rubis. E eu fico-me também por aqui. Há looks em que as palavras falham.
In the evening Queen Maxima brought us a flying dress and the splendor of rubies. And I rest my case here too. There are looks in which words fail.
