Voltámos esta semana com um post que fico muito feliz em escrever. Não era o post que tinha pensado fazer, mas esta semana foi divulgada uma fotografia histórica, e por isso acho que este assunto merece um amplo destaque no T&T. Ora bem, caso não saibam há uma nova Princesa na Bélgica.

E agora vamos ao contexto desta história que daria uma novela: Delphine nasceu a 22 de Fevereiro de 1968, filha da Baronesa Sybille de Selys Longchamps casada com o nobre e industrial belga Jonkheer Boël. O casal divorciou-se em 1978. Delphine era conhecida como Jonkvrouw Boël, uma honra usada pela baixa nobreza belga. E vocês perguntam: ok, Lurdes, é uma nobre belga. I present to you, Her Royal Highness Princess Delphine of Belgium, 52 years old. And now we go to the context of this story that looks like a drama novel: Delphine was born on February 22 1968, the daughter of Baroness Sybille de Selys Longchamps married to the noble and Belgian industrialist Jonkheer Boël. The couple divorced in 1978. Delphine was known as Jonkvrouw Boël, an honor used by the lower Belgian nobility. And you ask: ok, Lurdes, she is a Belgian noble. But being a Princess of Belgium it's quite different. What did she do?

Bem, ela simplesmente nasceu. Recuemos ao ano de 1999 quando é publicada uma biografia não autorizada sobre a Rainha Paola da autoria de Mario Danneels "Paola, da 'da dolce vita' até Rainha". Neste livro vinha referido a existência de uma filha ilegítima do Rei Albert II, marido de Paola e pai do actual Rei Philippe. A imprensa investigou e chegaram a Delphine. Na altura tanto ela como a sua mãe não comentaram o assunto que já estava por toda a parte na Bélgica. A confirmar-se, não só existia uma filha, como estava comprovada uma traição, já que Albert e Paola casaram em 1959. Ups! No discurso de Natal de 1999, Albert parece dar a entender que há uma parte da sua vida que quer manter privada e que existiu uma crise no seu casamento anos atrás. Muitos acreditam que com esta afirmação, Albert II estaria a reconhecer que teve de facto uma relação extraconjugal com a Baronesa Sybille de Selys Longchamps, enquanto era Príncipe de Liége, da qual resultou uma filha:

Well, she simply was born. Let's go back to 1999 when an unauthorized biography about Queen Paola by Mario Danneels "Paola, from 'da dolce vita' to Queen" is published. In this book the existence of an illegitimate daughter of King Albert II was mentioned- Albert is, of course, Paola's husband and father of the current King Philippe of the Belgians. The press investigated and found Delphine. At the time, both she and her mother did not comment on the subject that was already everywhere in Belgium. To be confirmed, not only did a daughter existed, but a betrayal was proven, since Albert and Paola were married in 1959. Ups. In his 1999 usual Christmas speech, Albert seems to imply that there is a part of his life that he wants to keep private and that there was a crisis in his marriage years ago. Many believe that with this statement, Albert II would be recognizing that he did in fact had an extramarital relationship with Baroness Sybille de Selys Longchamps, while he was Prince de Liége, which resulted in a daughter:

Não queremos alongar-nos neste assunto que pertence à nossa vida privada. Mas, se aqueles que enfrentam dificuldades semelhantes hoje pudessem obter algum incentivo de nossas próprias experiências, ficaríamos muito felizes.""Christmas is a time for each of us to think about the family, in the happy moments, but also in the difficult moments. The Queen and I remember our happy times, but also our moments of crisis that we have lived for over 30 years. Together we were able, over a long time, to overcome these difficulties and recover a deep knowledge and love for each other. This period was remembered for us recently. We do not want to dwell on this matter that belongs to our private life.. But, if those who encounter similar difficulties today could get some encouragement from our own experiences, we would be very happy."

Ora tudo muito bonito. Em 2005 Delphine afirma pela primeira vez numa entrevista que é filha de Albert II. A sua mãe ter-lhe-á contacto a verdade quando ela fez 18 anos.Nessa entrevista ela também afirma que terá contactado o seu pai biológico para pedir ajuda para a sua mãe que estava a ser perseguida pela imprensa. Albert II terá recusado, dizendo que ela não era sua filha e que não queria qualquer ligação com essa história. Os anos passam. Albert II abdica em 2013 e o seu filho mais velho é agora Rei dos Belgas. Com a abdicação vem a perda de imunidade E aproveitando essa brecha, Delphine recorre aos tribunais para solicitar um teste de ADN que comprove a sua paternidade. Neste ponto, Delphine garante que para todos os efeitos o seu pai é Jonkheer Boël com quem teve sempre uma excelente relação e cuja fortuna, muitos assumem, ser superior à do próprio Albert II. Ela quer apenas repor a verdade dos factos e ser levada a sério.
Everything seemed fine. In 2005 Delphine recognizes for the first time in an interview that she is the daughter of Albert II. Her mother will have told her the truth when she was 18 years old. In this interview she also claims to have contacted her biological father to ask for help for her mother who was being chased by the press. Albert II declined, saying that she was not his daughter and that he did not want any connection with this story. The years pass. Albert II abdicates in 2013 and his eldest son is now King of the Belgians. With the abdication comes the loss of immunity. And taking advantage of this loophole, Delphine goes to court to request a DNA test that proves her paternity. At this point, Delphine guarantees that for all intents and purposes his father is Jonkheer Boël with whom he has always had an excellent relationship and whose fortune, many assume, is superior to Albert II's himself. She just wants to restore the truth to the facts and be taken seriously.

In March 2017, her request is denied, but her legal team appeals. And, in November 2018 the Court orders King Albert II to undergo DNA tests to determine whether he is in fact the father of Delphine. The former King of the Belgians still appealed, as DNA testing is not mandatory in Belgium. But refusing to do so is considered evidence of paternity. The court ordered Albert II to pay Delphine a fine of 5,000 euros a day for each day he refused to take the test. However, it was proven that Delphine was not Jonkheer Boël's biological daughter. In January 2020 the test result finally comes out, recognizing Deplhine as Albert II's biological daughter. In a statement the former King of the Belgians states that "since the birth of Mrs. Delphine Boël he has never been involved in any family, social or educational decision related to Delphine and that he has always respected the ties between Delphime and his legal father". Well of course!

Surpreendentemente a 1 de Outubro de 2020, o Tribunal belga atribuí a Delphine e aos seus dois filhos - Josephine,16, e Oscar,12 anos - os títulos de Príncipe/Princesa da Bélgica e o tratamento de Altezas Reais. Delphine passa então a poder usar o apelido Saxe-Cobourg. Como filha natural, Delphine os seus filhos não fazem parte da linha de sucessão ao trono belga. Segundo os advogados de Delphine:
Delphine sempre alegou que a sua luta em tribunal não se prendia com titulos e heranças, mas apenas uma sentido de justiça e verdade. Muitos acreditam que Delphine só levou o caso até às últimas consequências, dada a atitude de Albert que nunca cooperou até ser obrigado a isso. E mesmo que não houvesse um teste a comprovar, a genética é forte e as semelhanças entre Delphine e a sua filha Josephine com a Rainha Astrid dos Belgas são notáveis. Mas, mais impressionante ainda para mim, são as semelhanças entre Oscar e o falecido Rei Balduíno, irmão de Albert II, enquanto jovem.
Mas e o melhor da semana? Pois bem o melhor da semana, que na realidade aconteceu na sexta-feira passada, foi o encontro de Delphine com o seu meio-irmão o Rei Philippe. Na fotografia do encontro divulgada ontem, pode ler-se um comunicado conjunto dos dois irmãos:

Surprisingly on 1 October 2020, the Belgian Court awarded Delphine and her two children - Josephine, 16, and Oscar, 12 - the titles of Prince / Princess of Belgium and they can be adressed as Their Royal Highnesses. Delphine is then able to use the surname Saxe-Cobourg. As a natural daughter, Delphine and her children are not part of the line of succession to the Belgian throne. According to Delphine's lawyers:

Her other demands for her to be treated in the same way that her brothers and sister were also satisfied. She is very satisfied with this decision, which puts an end to a long and painful process for her and her family. A legal victory will never replace a father's love, but it offers a sense of justice. "

Delphine always claimed that her fight in court was not about titles and inheritances, but only a sense of justice and truth. Many believe that Delphine only took the case to its last consequences, given the attitude of Albert who never cooperated until he was forced to do so. And even if there was no test to prove, Genetics is as strong thing and the similarities between Delphine and her daughter Josephine with Queen Astrid of the Belgians are striking. But even more impressive to me are the similarities between Oscar and the late King Baldwin, brother of Albert II, as a young man.

But what about the best of the week? Well the best of the week, which actually happened last Friday, was Delphine's meeting with his half brother King Philippe. In the photograph of the meeting released yesterday, a joint statement from the two siblings can be read:

Apesar de ser notório uma certo desconfotro pela postura corporal de ambos, isto é bonito, muito bonito!

ResponderEliminarEspero que este encontro entre irmãos sirva de exemplo para muita gente! A vida é só uma....e não se pode perder tempo com animosidades tolas. Entendo que a postura corporal seja talvez por causa desta maldita pandemia que vivemos....acho que não faria muito sentido estarem muito perto um do outro ou demonstrar algo que ainda, com certeza, vão construir!!
