Mary na Gronelândia / Mary in Greenland

Na semana passada a Princesa da Coroa Mary da Dinamarca esteve em visita oficial à Gronelândia com a Fundação Mary. A visita decorreu em conexão com a conferência " Violência Doméstica - uma responsabilidade partilhada".
Last week Crown Princess Mary of Denmark  was on an official visit to Greenland with the Mary Foundation. The visit took place in connection with the conference "Domestic Violence - a shared responsibility".

Dia 1 / Day 1

Um video foi divulgado no Facebook oficial da Casa Real Dinamarquesa no qual a Princesa Mary (talvez a caminho do aeroporto) promove a conferência e fala das suas expectativas para esta viagem.
A video was released on the official Facebook of the Danish Royal House where Princess Mary (perhaps on her way to the airport) promotes the conference and talks about her expectations for this trip.

Depois da sua chegada a Nuuk na Gronelândia, o seu primeiro compromisso oficial foi uma visita ao centro de dia Sikkersok. Durante esta visita Mary ficou a conhecer como o programa "Kammagiitta - Free of Bullying" da Fundação Mary está a ser implementado no centro.
After her arrival at Nuuk, Greenland, her first official engagement was a visit to Sikkersok day-care center. During this visit Mary got to know how the Mary Foundation's program "Kammagiitta - Free of Bullying" is being implemented in the center.

Mary teve ainda a oportunidade de conhecer várias crianças que lhe explicaram como colocam em prática os ensinamentos deste projecto no seu dia-a-dia.
Mary still had the opportunity to meet several children who explained to her how they put into practice the teachings of this project in their day-to-day.

Este programa anti-bullying foi implementado na Gronelândia em 2011 e actua em todo o território. Segundo o próprio governo da Gronelândia, via Fundação Mary, o programa é uma importante parte dos esforços da região na criação de uma melhor vida para as crianças:
This anti-bullying program was implemented in Greenland in 2011 and operates throughout all country. According to the Greenland government itself, via Mary Foundation, the program is an important part of the region's efforts to create a better life for children:
"Precisamos de um programa nacional anti-bullying para as crianças, nos locais de trabalho e no sector público, e o Kammagiita - Fri for Mobberi  é uma boa maneira de começar para as crianças." 
“We must have a national anti-bullying programme for children, in the workplace and in the public sector, and Kammagiitta – Fri for Mobberi is a great place to start for the children.”

De seguida Mary reuniu com o Departamento da Família, Igualdade de Género, Assuntos Sociais e Justiça, através do qual teve a oportunidade de visitar um abrigo também em Nuuk.
Then Mary met with the Department of Family, Gender Equality, Social Affairs and Justice, through which she had the opportunity to visit a shelter also in Nuuk.

O projecto da Fundação Mary "Kuttunneq - Abrigos na Gronelândia" foi estabelecido em 2014 e visa fortalecer os abrigos existentes na Gronelândia através da cooperação e desenvolvimento entre os governos dinamarquês e gronelandês. 
The Mary Foundation's project "Kuttunneq - Shelters in Greenland" was established in 2014 and aims to strengthen the existing shelters in Greenland through cooperation and development between the Danish and Greenlandic governments.

Segundo palavras da própria Princesa da Coroa Mary:
According the Crown Princess:

 "A violência contra mulheres é um problema global e, independentemente do local do mundo, a violência tem sérias consequências. Por isso faz sentido que exista cooperação entre culturas e fronteiras para apoiar as mulheres afectadas pela violência. Na Fundação Mary, esperamos que uma forte pareceria, através deste projecto, possa usar a experiência internacional nesta área para apoiar as mulheres e crianças sujeitas a violência na Gronelândia."
“Violence against women is a global problem and regardless of where in the world you live, violence has serious consequences. Therefore it makes good sense to cooperate across cultures and borders in order to support women affected by violence. At the Mary Foundation we hope that the strong partnership in this project can use the international experiences in the area to support women and children who have been subjected to violence in Greenland.”

Dia 2 / Day 2

No segundo dia de visita, a Princesa Mary abriu a conferência "Violência Doméstica - uma responsabilidade partilhada". O principal objectivo desta conferência é fortalecer uma cooperação interdisciplinar, durante um evento que contou com a presença de mais de 170 profissionais de toda a Gronelânica, incluindo equipas de abrigos, centros de famílias e a polícia.
On the second day of visit the Crown Princess opens the Mary Foundation conference "Domestic violence - a shared responsibility". The goal of the conference is to focus on violence and to strengthen interdisciplinary cooperation. More than 170 professionals from all over Greenland participate in the conference, including staff from shelters, family centers and the police.

Alguns dados de violência da Gronelândia: 62% das mulheres adultas já foram expostas a violência pelo menos uma vez na sua vida; 16% das mães de crianças entre os 0-14 anos foram alvo de violência física pelo seu companheiro; 27% das crianças viram a sua mãe a ser alvo de violência no último ano, enquanto que 7% foram testemunhas de violência contra o seu pai; 10% das crianças testemunharam violência contra os seus irmãos.
Some data on violence in Greenland: 62% of adult women have been exposed to violence at least once in their life; 16% of mothers of children aged 0-14 years were subjected to physical violence by their partner; 27% of children saw their mother to be the target of violence in the last year, while 7% were witnesses of violence against his father; 10% of children witnessed violence against their siblings.

"Sabemos que a violência existe. Sabemos que a violência é ilegal. E sabemos que a violência está errada. Mas a violência continua a existir por todo o lado. Porquê? Não existe uma resposta simples, mas parte desta resposta está no silêncio. Se não falarmos sobre a violência, ela irão continuar sem parar." 
"We all know that violence exists. We know that violence is illegal. And we know that violence is wrong. But violence continues to exist everywhere. Why? There is no simple answer, but part of this answer is in the silence. If not talk about violence, it will continue without stopping. "

A Princesa teve ainda a oportunidade de conversar com vítimas de violência que lhe contaram a suas experiências e como ultrapassaram o trauma.
The Princess also had the opportunity to talk with victims of violence who told her their experiences and how exceeded the trauma.

Mary posou no final da conferência com os vários profissionais da Fundação Mary que fazem parte do projecto "Kuttunneq - Abrigos na Gronelândia".

Ainda nesse dia a a Princesa também reuniu com membros do Conselho de Crianças NAKUUSA e da Cruz Azul. Mary conversou com crianças e jovens sobre as suas as aspirações para o futuro.
Later that day the Princess also met with members of the NAKUUSA Council of Children and Blue Cross. Mary talked to children and young people about their aspirations for the future.



No final da visita, ainda houve tempo para um passeio de barco para admirar a magnifica paisagem da Gronelândia.
At the end of the visit, there was still time for a boat trip to admire the magnificent landscape of Greenland.
