Prinsjesdag 2014 + Royal Fashion by you

Um dos momentos altos do meu calendário real teve lugar ontem na Holanda (há muito que não falávamos da nossa Máxi aqui).

One of the highlights of my royal calendar took place yesterday in the Netherlands (It has been a while since we talked of our Máxi girl here).

O Rei Willem-Alexander, a Rainha Máxima, acompanhados dos Príncipes Constantjin e Laurentien da Holanda compareceram ao Prinsjesdag, em Haia.

King Willem-Alexander,Queen Máxima, accompanied by Princes Constantjin and Princess Laurentien of the Netherlands attended the Prinsjesdag in The Hague.

Este dia marca, nem mais nem menos que a abertura do novo ano parlamentar do Staten-Generaal (Senado Holandês e Casa dos Representantes).

This day marks, neither more nor less than the opening of the new parliamentary year of the Staten-Generaal (The Dutch Senate and House of Representatives).

Como é hábito os reis chegaram ao Parlamento na carruagem dourada com toda a pompa que este dia ostenta.

As usual the King and Queen arrived to Parliament in the golden carriage with all the pomp that this day bears.

No discurso deste ano, o Rei enalteceu o orçamento e as políticas do Governo Holandês para o novo ano parlamentar.

During the his speech, the King praising the budget and policies of the Dutch government for the new parliamentary year.

Uma cerimónia bastante simples e rápida. De seguida o casal real, acompanhados pelos Constantijn e Laurentien seguiram para o Palácio Noordeinde onde acenaram ao povo.

A very quick and simple ceremony. Then the royal couple, accompanied by Constantijn and Laurentien went to the Noordeinde Palace where they waved to the people.

Pontos altos da cerimónia:/ Highlights of the ceremony:

A Princesa Beatrix segue a tradição da sua mãe, a Rainha Juliana, que após a abdicação segue o cortejo real a partir da janela do Gabinete do Rei e acena emocionada e orgulhosa à passagem da carruagem real.

Princess Beatrix follows the tradition of her mother, Queen Juliana, who after the abdication follows the royal procession from the King's Office window and waves thrilled and proud to passage of the royal carriage.

Moda. Pois o dress code desta cerimónia é bem particular. Vestidos longos e chapéus a completar com vistosas jóias e insígnias da Casa de Orange. Depois do fantástico look do ano passado, confesso que este visual de Máxima me desiludiu um pouco. A rainha estava elegante, mas penso que o chapéu, de autoria de Fabienne Delvigne não foi o correcto para o dia, e o vestido Valentino em forma de A, também deixou muito a desejar. Aliás para mim foi uma surpresa a escolha do estilista. Neste dia, e nos últimos anos, Máxima costuma optar pelo criador holandês Jan Taminiau, que criou na minha opinião alguns dos vestidos mais lindos da esposa de Willem-Alexander.

A completar o visual, Máxima também optou por jóias bastante discretas: brincos de pérolas pendentes, o lindíssimo broche de pérolas e diamantes em forma de folha de morangueiro e uma pulseira de brilhantes. Os sapatos são Miu-Miu e a clutch vermelha.

Fashion. For this ceremony the dress code is very particular. Long dresses with matching hats complete with sparkle jewelry and insignia of the House of Orange. After the fantastic look of last year, I confess that this visual of Maxima disappointed me a bit. The queen was elegant, but I think the hat, designed by Fabienne Delvigne was not the right option for the day, and the Valentino A-shpaed red dress, was far below my expectations. Actually for me it was a surprising choice of stylist. Máxima on this day, and in recent years, usually opts for the Dutch designer Jan Taminiau, which in my opinion has created some of the most beautiful dresses of the wife of Willem-Alexander. 

To complete the look, Máxi also chose quite discreet jewelry: pearl earrings pendants, the beautiful pearl and diamond strawberry leaf brooch and a diamond bracelet. The shoes are from Miu Miu, and a red clutch. 

Aliás acho que foi um visual demasiado vermelho, se tivermos em conta que as luvas em pele da Rainha apareciam como uma extensão das mangas do vestido. Mas lindo penteado que Máxima levou. Perfeito.

Actually I think it was too red look, if we consider that the Queen's leather gloves appeared as an extension of the long sleeves of the dress. But  what a gorgeous hairstyle, Máxi. That's perfect.

Uma das minhas queridas leitoras aceitou o desafio. B.N. escolheu a Duquesa de Cambridge para começar e aqui estão os seus desenhos que partilho com a sua permissão.

One of my dear readers accepted the challenge. B. N. chose the Duchess of Cambridge to start and here there are her skatches I share with all of you with her permission.

E o que inspirou Boryana a fazê-lo?

"Estes dois modelos são o meu ponto de vista de como a Duquesa de Cambridge se deveria apresentar. Eu gosto do estilo da Kate, mas por vezes é aborrecido! Eu acho que o azul é uma cor que fica muito bem na Kate, por isso escolhi o azul para o vestido de dia. No entanto eu queria que ela se atrevesse um pouco mais com o estilo de penteado. No modelo de noite, o vestido amarelo, quero esclarecer que na zona na cintura estão representados dois cintos, um branco mais largo e outro amarelo mais fino."

And what inspired Boryana to do so? 

"These two models are my opinions on how the Duchess of Cambridge should look. I like Kate's style, but sometimes it is boring! I think the blue is a color that looks great on Kate, so I chose blue for  the day dress. Yet I would like to see her experiment more with her hair. At the night model, the yellow dress, I want to clarify that in the belt is actually two belts: one is slime and the other is large and white."

Pessoalmente adorei a sensualidade do modelo amarelo e o toque feminino da renda e da flor no vestido azul. 

Personally I loved the sensuality of the yellow model and the feminine touch of lace and the flower detail in blue dress.

Agradeço à Boryana por ter aceite este desafio. Aliás ela aceitou desenhar modelos para cada uma das nossas damas reais. 

Sabem o que eu gostava? Que vocês que estão ai desse lado e têm um gosto por moda e um talento escondido se atrevessem a tentar também e partilharem aqui o vosso trabalho. Não são profissionais? Não faz mal! Não interessa. Se é uma paixão vossa não interessa se o traço é infantil ou pouco firme, o que interessa é a imagem que querem passar.

I thank Boryana for accepting this challenge. Actually she accepted to draw fashion sketches for each of our royal ladies. 

Do you know what I would love? That you there on that side, who may have a taste for fashion and a drawn talent hidden dared to try and also share your work here. You are not professional? It does not hurt! It does not matter. If it is your passion it doesn't matter if your trait is a bit childish or unsteady, what matters is the message and the ideia you want to share.
