One of the great questions of a royal wedding, despiste the bride's gown, remains in what tiara the bride will wear (assuming all princesses or princesses-to be will use a tiara on her wedding day).
Making the will of many of my readers who expressed their interest in knowing more about royal jewelry, today  we will talk about the tiaras used by Princess Madeleine of Sweden until now and that may be an option for next 8th of June.

Aquamarine Tiara

Discreta e ainda assim especial.

Madeleine’s first tiara, a present for her 18th birthday. A petite bandeau with a large aquamarine in the center as a starter tiara. It does have some family history, reportedly once belonging to Queen Louise. Aka as the  Cyclops tiara. A perfect match for the princesse’s eyes, and that she allways knew how to wear with matching hairdo, that pop it. It may have great sentimental value to the princess. Discrete and yet special.

Modern Fringe Tiara

Probably made by W.A. Bolin, this fine and delicate tiara was presented to Queen Silvia of Sweden by her husband, King Carl XVI Gustav, on the occasion of their tenth wedding anniversary in 1986. Therefore, it belongs to the Queen's personal collection and not to one of the two foundations created to house the family jewels and avoid their dispersal. The design is an evocation of the Swedish dynastic symbols, including a little fleur-de-lys, a mention to the French origins of the current dynasty's founder, Jean-Baptiste Bernadotte. Mounted on a flexible frame, the tiara can be transformed into a necklace. Has been the hallmark of the Swedish princess for most tiara events.

Six Buttons Diamond Tiara

This tiara is among the jewels of the Swedish Royal family colecction with diamond-set buttons. The Six Button Tiara is composed of six buttons (circular shaped) based on a basis that may include two rows of diamonds to greater effect.. Originally, these buttons are supposed to have adorned some ceremonial uniforms of the marshal Jean-Baptiste Bernadotte, later King Carl XIV Johan of Sweden  At some point, all the buttons were fixed on frames in order to be worn as tiaras, which have been often worn by the princesses Victoria and Madeleine, or the aunt of King Carl XVI Gustav, princess Lilian. This is not, at all, my favorite tiara...

Outras/Others

1- Diamond Bandeau Tiara

A simple diamond rivière or two, from unknown provenance but it makes such a lovely ornament for that fantastic tiara hair.I would love to see it on the wedding celebrations.

2- Four Buttons Diamond Tiara

This refined tiara was presented to princess Margaret of Great Britain by her father prince Arthur, duke of Connaught and Strathearn, when she married in 1905  later King Gustav VI Adolf. Made by E. Wolff & Co. for Garrard, it consists of ten diamond forget-me-not prongs garlands adorned with ribbons and flowers, which join each other to form five arches in which are hanging five larger stones which can also be worn as pendants or earrings or even a necklace. Being a tiara only used until now by Queen Silvia and for the King's sisters on special days, it was with great surprise that we saw Madeleine using it for the first time in 2010 at the wedding of Crown Princess Victoria. I didn´t like it...

4- Amethyste Tiara

Prefiro cores neutras.

This tiara is part of an amethyst and diamond demi parure, which was a present from Empress Josephine to princess Augusta of Bavaria when she married in 1805 Eugene of Beauharnais, duke of Leuchtenberg. The set became part of the Swedish royal collection in 1823 when their daughter princess Josephine of Leuchtenberg married prince Oskar of Sweden, future King Oskar 1st. Queen Silvia ordered that the necklace set with eleven amethysts surrounded by diamonds to be converted into a diadem. Queen Silvia and Crown Princess Victoria usually wear this diadem. Madeleine wore it for the first time in recent Ceremonies of the Nobel Prizes. Although I did  love the way  the princess wore this tiara, it is not my favorite for the wedding day. I love purple amethysts, but not holding a veil. I prefer neutral stones.

The Cameo Tiara

Made in 1811 by Nitot  this cameo, pearl and diamond parure was owned by the Empress Josephine, the first wife of Napoleon, then her daughter Hortense of Beauharnais, spouse of Louis Bonaparte, King of Holland. In 1823 Queen Hortense presented it to her niece, princess Josephine of Leuchtenberg, when she married prince Oskar of Sweden (later King Oskar I) and since then, the set is part of the Swedish royal collection. It is a strong possibility for the wedding day, since the use of this tiara on a wedding day has been some kind of tradition for the ladies of the Swedish royal house, including Princesses Birgitta and Desiree, sisters of the King, Queen Silvia, and Crown Princess Victoria.

Madeleine said recently that she wanted to be a traditional bride, which leads me to the Cameo Tiara for this day. On the other hand I think this particulary tiara will not favor her as many other tiara choices. My choice would be the Diamond Bandeau Tiara, by its simplicity and by what I think will be Madde's lifestyle after the wedding: simple, yet part of History!

Meanwhile new official photos were released.
