The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended the Royal Variety Performance last night at the Palladium Theater in London.

Este grande evento anual é organizado para ajudar a Royal Variety Charity do qual a Rainha é Patrona. O dinheiro angariado neste espectáculo, que conta com a actuação de vários artistas conceituados, reverte para a instituição que ajuda centenas de pessoas do mundo do entretenimento no Reino Unido, algumas delas a necessitar de ajuda financeira ou outro tipo de apoio devido à idade avançada, doença, etc.
This major annual event is organized to help the Royal Variety Charity of which the Queen is Patron. The money raised in this show, which features a number of leading artists, reverts to the institution that helps hundreds of people in the UK from the entertainment world, some in need of financial aid or other support due to their advanced age, disease, etc.

Este espectáculo teve a sua origem em 1912 quando o Rei George V e a Rainha Mary concordaram em comparecer ao "Royal Command Performance" para ajudar um fundo que apoiava os artistas de Variedades. Em 1919, surgiu o primeiro Royal Variety Performance na sequência daquele primeiro espectáculo e após a primeira guerra mundial. Em 1921 tornou-se um evento anual que conta com a presença de membros da família real. Esta foi a terceira vez que o Duque e a Duquesa de Cambridge representaram a Rainha neste evento.
This show originated in 1912 when King George V and Queen Mary agreed to attend the "Royal Command Performance" to help a fund that supported Variety artists. In 1919, the first Royal Variety Performance emerged following that first show and after World War I. In 1921 it became an annual event attended by members of the royal family. This was the third time the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge represented the Queen at this event.

Oiçam, não é segredo para ninguém que não sou a fã número 1 do estilo da nossa Kate. Gosto bastante da generalidade das roupas que ela usa, mas na maioria das vezes não gosto da maneira como ela conjuga os seus looks: seja pela acessórios, seja pelo cabelo, seja porque é mais do mesmo, seja porque não favorece a figura da Duquesa.
Listen, it's no secret that I'm not the # 1 fan of our Kate's style. I really like the generality of the clothes she wears, but most of the time I don't like the way she combines her looks: either by her accessories, by her hairstyle, or because it's more of the same, or because it doesn't favor the Duchess's figure .

Atenção a este último tópico: todos nós somos diferentes. Cada corpo é um corpo e nenhum tipo é melhor ou pior. Mas podemos usar coisas que nos favoreçam mais, sejamos magras, menos magras, atléticas, recém-mamás, etc. No que toca a moda e à realeza eu quero olhar para qualquer uma das nossas meninas e ficar de boca aberta. Quero que elas estejam sempre bem e se sintam bem.
Attention to this last topic: we are all different. Each body is a body and no type is better or worse. But we can use things that favor us more, no matter if we are thin, less skinny, athletic, new mommy, etc. When it comes to fashion and royalty I want to look at any of our girls and be dazzled. I want them to always be gorgeous and feel good about themselfs.

Estava com altas esperanças para Kate na noite passada. Vejo a Duquesa muito mais descontraída e, já aqui o disse, acredito que ela está na melhor fase da sua vida. E isso reflecte-se muito no seu estilo que tem tido ligeiras alterações nos últimos tempos, maioritariamente nos eventos diurnos.
I had high hopes for Kate last night. I see the Duchess much more relaxed and, as I said before, I believe she is in the best phase of her life. And that is reflected a lot in her style that has had slight changes in recent times, mostly in the daytime events.
Mas depois surgiu mais um vestido de renda preta, parecido a muitos que ela tem...Sou sincera: gostei muito do vestido. Tem inspirações no início do século XX, adorei o decote, as costas e as mangas e os detalhes em veludo. Não estou certa se o corte favorece muito a Duquesa, da cintura para baixo. Bonito, mas nada de estonteante. Talvez noutra cor, a coisa tivesse parecido diferente.
But then came another black lace dress, similar to many she has ... I am honest: I liked the dress very much. Inspired by the early twentieth century, I loved the neckline, the back and sleeves and the details in velvet. I am not sure if the cut favors the Duchess from the waist down. Beautiful, but nothing stunning. Maybe in another color, the thing had looked different.

Agora o que me causa urticária é a forma como a Kate usou o cabelo e os brincos escolhidos. Nada a ver. Já percebi há muito tempo que a nossa Kate é uma moça de gostos simples e que prefere umas jardineiras de ganga a um vestido de gala. Mas caramba, basta olhar para o look de 2014 para ver que ela é capaz de melhor...
Now what causes me nerves is the way Kate wore her hair and the chosen earrings. Nothing to do with that gown. I have long realized that our Kate is a girl with simple tastes and who prefers a pair of denim overalls to a ball gown. But damn it, just look at 2014's appearence to see that she can do better ...
