Dia Nacional do Mónaco 2019 / Monaco National Day 2019

Os Grimaldi compareceram em força às celebrações do Dia Nacional do Mónaco, na passada terça-feira. E eu precisei de dois dias. DOIS DIAS para interiorizar um grande desastre que aconteceu.

The Grimaldi attended the Monaco National Day celebrations last Tuesday. And I needed two days. TWO DAYS to internalize a major disaster that happened.

Primeiro começamos com uma nota bonita. Este ano passam 90 anos do nascimento da Princesa Grace do Mónaco, mãe do actual soberano. Albert não deixou passar a data em branco e durante o desfile militar habitual das celebrações da Festa Nacional, a Orquestra dos Carabiniers do Príncipe adaptou o tema "Amazing Grace", em homenagem à eterna Princesa do Mónaco.

First we start with a beautiful note. This year is the 90th anniversary of the birth of Princess Grace of Monaco, mother of the current sovereign. Albert did not miss the date and during the usual military parade of National Party celebrations, the Prince's Carabiniers Orchestra adapted the theme "Amazing Grace" in honor of the eternal Princess of Monaco.

No pátio do Palácio o Príncipe Albert contou com a companhia da esposa, a Princesa Charlene, e das irmãs, Caroline, Princesa de Hanover e a Princesa Stephanie. Este ano também estiveram presentes Andrea e Tatiana Casiraghi com os seus três filhos, Sacha, India e Max, Pierre e Beatrice Casiraghi com os seus dois filhos, Stefano e Francesco, a Princesa Alexandra de Hanover, Louis e Marie Ducruet. Como tem vindo a ser hábito os irmãos da Princesa Charlene, Gareth e Sean Wittstock também estiveram presentes. Os grandes ausentes foram Charlotte Casiraghi, Pauline Ducruet e Camille Gottlieb.

At the Palace's courtyard, Prince Albert was accompanied by his wife, Princess Charlene, and his sisters, Caroline, Princess of Hanover, and Princess Stephanie. Also present this year were Andrea and Tatiana Casiraghi with their three children, Sasha, India and Max, Pierre and Beatrice Casiraghi with their two sons, Stefano and Francesco, Princess Alexandra of Hanover, Louis and Marie Ducruet. As has become customary Princess Charlene's brothers, Gareth and Sean Wittstock were also present. The big absentees were Charlotte Casiraghi, Pauline Ducruet and Camille Gottlieb.

De seguida a família rumou para o serviço religioso Te Deum celebrado na Catedral do Mónaco.

Then the family headed for the Te Deum religious service celebrated at Monaco Cathedral.

Charlene escolheu um conjunto branco para a ocasião que combinou com o pin da Ordem de Saint-Charles. O branco é sempre uma boa cor para a Princesa consorte do Mónaco e o chapéu foi uma excelente aposta. Ainda assim confesso que não gostei da escolha de um fato de calças para esta ocasião. Este é o dia mais solene do Príncipado e acho que este fato poderia ter sido usado noutro evento menos formal. Acho que Charlene nunca superou o look de 2010. E eu tenho saudades desse tempo. Charlene e Dior eram uma boa aposta.

Charlene chose a white ensemble for the occasion that matched the Order of Saint-Charles pin. White is always a good color for the Princess Consort of Monaco and the hat was a great bet. Still I confess I did not like choosing a pant suit for this occasion. This is the most solemn day of the Principality and I think this suit could have been used in another less formal event. I think Charlene never surpassed the look of 2010. And I miss those days. Charlene and Dior were a great match.

Caroline e Stephanie estavam apropriadas. Mas nada mais.

Agora abram alas para as novas Senhoras Casiraghi!! Não costumo ser fã dos looks de Tatiana, mas a esposa de Andrea estava super chique neste conjunto tão anos 50. É um look que se ama ou odeia. Eu amei.

Now make way for the new Casiraghi ladies !! I'm not usually a fan of Tatiana's looks, but Andrea's wife was super chic in this 50s set. It's a look you love or hate. I loved.

Também Beatrice, que até nos tem desiludido nos últimos tempos, redimiu-se. O casaco em tartam verde é divinal, sobrepondo-se a um vestido ou saia nos mesmos tons. As luvas, a bolsa, e os restantes acessórios em preto foram a cereja no topo do bolo.

Gostei bastante do look da Princesa Alexandra, mas não para este evento. Tal como no caso de Charlene, precisamos de mais formalidade.

Beatrice, who has even disappointed us in recent times, has redeemed herself. The green tartam jacket is divine, overlapping a dress or skirt in the same shades. The gloves, the bag, and the other black accessories were the icing on the cake.

I really liked Princess Alexandra's outfit, but not for this event. As with Charlene, we need more formality.

Foi a estreia de Marie Ducruet no Dia Nacional do Mónaco, ela que casou com o filho mais velho da Princesa Stephanie este Verão. E só por isso vamos ter esperança. A combinação de cores foi bonita, o chapéu pillbox também, mas aquele vestido-casaco foi desastroso. Para o ano há mais Marie, para o ano há mais.

It was Marie Ducruet's debut on Monaco National  Day, she who married Princess Stephanie's eldest son this summer. And that's why we'll have hope. The color combination was pretty, so was the pillbox hat, but that dress-coat was disastrous. Next year Marie, next year!

De volta ao Palácio é tempo para admirarmos as crianças absolutamente LINDAS que estas pessoas produzem.

Back at the Palace is time to admire the absolutely beautiful children that these people produce.

Jacques usou o uniforme dos Carabiniers e a Grande-Cruz da Ordem dos Grimaldi. Gabriella usou pela primeira vez um (grande) chapéu!

Jacques wore the Carabiniers' uniform and the Grand Cross of the Order of the Grimaldi. Gabriella wore a (big) hat for the first time!

Quanto às restantes crianças Casiraghi, tirando Sasha (por ser mais velho) e India (por ser a única menina), eu não sou capaz de destingir os restantes, sem ler legendas. E aposto que se os filhos de Charlotte também estivessem presentes a confusão ainda seria maior.

As for the other Casiraghi children, apart from Sasha (for being older) and India (for being the only girl), I can't distinguish the rest without reading subtitles. And I bet if Charlotte's children were present too, the confusion would be even greater.

De noite alguns adultos da família compareceram à Gala do Dia Nacional no Forúm de Monte-Carlo. Oiçam, já é mau o suficiente Charlene não nos dar uma aparição de tiara ou sequer um sorriso na maior parte dos casos, agora usar uma faixa com um fato??? Eu sou toda a favor da igualdade de género e o fim dos estereótipos. Mas isto não é equitativo. 

In the evening some adults of the family attended the National Day Gala at the Monte-Carlo Forum. Listen, is it bad enough Charlene doesn't give us a tiara moment or even a smile in most cases, now wearing a sash with a tuxedo suit ??? I am all in favor of gender equality and the end of stereotypes. But this is not groudbreaking.

A bem da verdade, do pouco que podemos ver, ninguém esteve muito melhor. Ainda assim, o look de Charlene já é um dos piores do ano. Pelo menos para mim...Não perdoo uma oportunidade perdida para usar um vestido de gala elegante com uma Ordem.

In fact, as little as we can see, no one was much better. Still, Charlene's look is already one of the worst of the year. At least for me...I don't forgive a missed opportunity to wear an elegant dress with an Order.
