Uma das coisas fantásticas destas sessões fotográficas de Verão é que dão-nos oportunidade de ver os membros mais novos da realeza num cenário mais descontraído e natural. Embora muitas destas crianças e adolescentes não marquem presença em muitos actos oficias, são notórias as diferenças entre o á-vontade das crianças do norte da Europa em contraste com as monarquias da Europa central e sul. Sempre que vejo Leonor e Sofia de Espanha penso nisto. Mas não este ano.

One of the fantastic things about these summer photo shoots is that they give us a chance to see younger royals in a more relaxed and natural setting. Although many of these children and adolescents are not present in many official acts yet, the differences between northern Europe and southern European monarchies are huge regarding the way royal children are at ease. Whenever I see Leonor and Sofia from Spain I think about this. But not this year.

Este ano só consegui pensar no quão lindas estão as filhas do Rei Felipe VI e da Rainha Letizia de Espanha. LIIIIINDAS!!!

This year I could only think of how beautiful the daughters of King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain are. GORGEOUS!!!

Como é hábito a sessão fotográfica decorreu nos jardins do Palácio de Marivent, residência oficial de Verão da Família Real Espanhola em Palma de Maiorca. A família encontra-se ai de férias com a Rainha emérita Sofia que foi fotografada com a nora e com as netas em diversas ocasiões nos últimos dias.

As usual, the photo shoot took place in the gardens of Marivent Palace, the official summer residence of the Spanish Royal Family in Palma de Mallorca. The family is there on vacation with Emeritus Queen Sofia who was photographed with her daughter-in-law and granddaughters on several occasions in recent days.

Leonor, que completa 14 anos em Outubro, e Sofia, de 12 anos, voltaram recentemente de um campo de férias de verão nos Estados Unidos, que já tinham frequentado o ano passado. Leonor disse durante a sessão fotográfica que "Foi melhor do que o ano passado, porque já conhecíamos."

Leonor, who turns 14 in October and Sofia, 12, recently returned from a summer camp in the United States. It's the second year in a row they traveled in July for this summer camp. Leonor said during the photo shoot that "It was better than last year because they already knew it."

O que sempre é notório quando falamos desta família de quatro é a união e carinho, onde o toque está sempre presente. Felipe e Letizia parecem-me pais exigentes, que tiveram educações muito distintas, mas que trazem um equilibrio muito interessante para a educação das duas filhas. E a sensação que tenho e, que sei que é partilhada por alguns dos meus leitores, é que os quatro são uma equipa muito forte.

What is always noticeable when we talk about this family of four is the union and affection, where the touch is always present. Felipe and Letizia seem to me to be demanding parents who have very different upbringings but bring a very interesting balance to the education of their two daughters. And the feeling I have, which I know is shared by some of my readers, is that the four of them are a very strong and close team.

Penteadas de maneira idêntica , Leonor e Sofia distinguem-se pela maneira de vestir, mas também pela personalidade. Leonor é nitidamente mais tímida que Sofia, mas ambas mostraram-se bastante sorridentes e cúmplices entre sí e com os seus pais.

With the same hairstyle, Leonor and Sofia are distinguished by their clothes, but also by their personality. Leonor is distinctly shyer than Sofia, but both were quite smiling and complicit among themselves and their parents.

A sessão fotográfica de Verão não se ficou por aqui. No dia 8 de Agosto, a família visitou a Casa Museu Son Marroig.

Esta é uma instituição privada, criada em 1927 com a finalidade de preservar, divulgar e promover a emblemática figura do Arquiduque Ludwig Salvator da Áustria. Personagem fundamental da história cultural e património dos finais do século XIX e inicio do século XX, o Arquiduque fixou residência em Palma de Maiorca em Son Marroig, onde se podem encontrar os seus livros, pinturas, mobiliário e poesia de diferentes períodos e objectos pessoais. O Arquiduque Ludwig Salvator escreveu a maior obra sobre as ilhas baleares espanholas: “Die Balearen” que dedicou ao seu primo o Imperador Franz Joseph da Áustria, onde enaltece o seu amor pela natureza deste território espanhol e o seu compromisso em respeitar a sua história.

This is a private institution created in 1927 to preserve, publicize and promote the iconic figure of Archduke Ludwig Salvator of Austria. A fundamental character in the cultural history and heritage of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, the Archduke settled in Palma de Mallorca in Son Marroig, where his books, paintings, furniture and poetry of different periods and personal objects can be found. Archduke Ludwig Salvator wrote the greatest work on the Spanish Balearic Islands: “Die Balearen” which he dedicated to his cousin Emperor Franz Joseph of Austria, where he praises his love for the nature of this Spanish territory and his commitment to respect its history.

Felipe, Letizia, Leonor e Sofia foram o sinónimo de perfeita coordenação na altura de vestir. Uma coordenação não apenas aplicada a eles mesmos, como também à paisagem natural que envolve esta Casa Museu localizada na Cordilheira Norte da ilha de Maiorca entre os povoados Valldemossa e Deià.

Além da tradicional sessão fotográfica no Palácio de Marivent, é comum Felipe VI e Letizia de Espanha aproveitarem a sua estadia em Palma de Maiorca para darem a conhecer às suas duas filhas locais de interesse da ilha e aproveitarem essas visitas para promoverem o património cultural desta bonita ilha espanhola.

In addition to the traditional photo shoot at Marivent Palace, it is common for Felipe VI and Letizia of Spain during their stay in Palma de Mallorca to show the girls the several interest spots of the island and to take advantage of these visits to promote the cultural heritage of this beautiful Spanish island.
