Para todos aqueles que sentiam falta da cobertura dos Windsor neste blog, esta é a vossa semana de sorte. As corridas de Royal Ascot arrancaram ontem e como é hábito contaram com a presença de vários membros da família real britânica (e convidados especiais!) no primeiro dia. Royal Ascot são mais do que um evento, embora não se enganem, estas corridas de cavalos são o evento mais importante do calendário social inglês. Mas é mais do que isso: é a extravagância dos chapéus, a nata da sociedade inglesa reunida num recinto, são as apostas, é a moda, é a presença da família real. Ascot é uma forma de estar na vida!
For all those who missed Windsor coverage on this blog, this is your lucky week. Royal Ascot races started yesterday and as usual they were attended by several members of the British royal family (and special guests!) on the first day. Royal Ascot races are more than an event, although make no mistake, the horseraces are the most important event of the English social calendar. But it's more than that: it is the extravagance of the hats, the best of the English society gathered in a one place, the stakes, it is the fashion, is the presence of the royal family. Ascot is a way of living!

Royal Ascot teve a sua origem pela mão da Rainha Anne em 1711 e conta, todos os anos, com a presença do Soberano britânico e de vários membros da família real. A sua chegada ao recinto de carruagem marca o inicio das provas. As várias provas realizam-se em Ascot, muito próximo no Castelo de Windsor.
Founded by Queen Anne in 1711, Royal Ascot counts every year with the presence of the british sovereign and several members of the royal family. Their arrival at the enclosure by carriage marks the beginning of the races. The races are held in Ascot, very near Windsor Castle.

A procissão real marca a entrada da família real no recinto. Na primeira carruagem a Rainha Elizabeth II acompanhada seu filho o Duque de York e por um casal real que há muito queríamos ver em Ascot: o Rei Willem-Alexander e a Rainha Máxima da Holanda.
The royal procession marks the entrance of the royal family into the race's venue. In the first carriage was Queen Elizabeth II accompanied by her son the Duke of York and a royal couple who we wish for a looong time to attend Ascot: King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands.

Na segunda carruagem viajaram o Principe de Gales, a Duquesa da Cornualha, o Duque e Duquesa de Cambridge.
In the second carriage traveled the Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

Na terceira carruagem seguiram a Princesa Real, o Lord de Mauley e o Conde e Condessa de Wessex.

Na quarta e última carruagem podemos ver a Princesa Alexandra, a Ilustre Lady Ogilvy, o Ilustre Edward Young, secretário privado da Rainha, a Princesa Beatrice de York e a Princesa Eugenie de York.
In the fourth and last carriage we can see Princess Alexandra, the Hon. Lady Ogilvy, the Rt. Hon. Edward Young, the Queen's private secretary, Princess Beatrice of York and Princess Eugenie of York.

Grande fã das corridas de Ascot onde vê muitos dos seus cavalos a participarem, a Rainha está sempre muito bem disposta neste evento. O dia estava chuvoso, então esta escolha em azul pálido com alguns salpicos de azul escuro e roxo foi perfeita para a ocasião.
A big fan of Ascot races where she sees many of her horses racing, the Queen is always in great spirits at this event. The day was rainy, so this choice in pale blue with some splashes of dark blue and purple was perfect for the occasion.

"A vossa festa dos chapéus é amanhã, não é? Se não se importam vou ficar." A minha querida M. R. fez a leitura perfeita do pensamento que claramente Máxima da Holanda teve quando se soube que tinha uma oportunidade fantástica para usar e abusar de um adereço de chapelaria. Não que a nossa Rainha dos Chapéus tenha alguma vez necessitado de um motivo que não seja somente estar a respirar, para nos deslumbrar com a sua extravagância. Um look que poderia ser aborrecido, ao nível das cores escolhidas, mas que resultou na perfeição com a obra de arte daquele chapéu e o brilho daqueles enormes diamantes pendurados nas orelhas (cumprimentos da Tiara Stuart, porque estamos a falar de Máxima!). E já viram o sorriso da nossa Máxi? Claramente ela estava no seu ambiente natural.

R. made the perfect reading of the thought that clearly Maxima of the Netherlands had when she realized that she had a fantastic opportunity to use and abuse some headwearing. Not that our Queen of Hats has ever needed a reason other than just breathing, to dazzle us with her extravagance. A look that could be annoying, regarding the chosen colors, but that resulted in perfection with that masterpiece hat and the bling of those huge diamonds hanging from the ears (compliments of the Stuart Tiara, because she is Maxima!). And have you seen the smile on our Maxi's face? Clearly she was in her natural environment.

Á primeira vista os looks da nossa querida Camilla não variam muito. Cores suaves e grandes chapéus. Mas se olharmos com atenção são os pormenores que contam. As texturas, os tecidos. Camilla escolheu um conjunto rosa pálido que se combinou na perfeição com a palette de cores escolhida pelas outras damas.
At first glance the looks of our beloved Camilla do not vary much. Soft colors and big hats. But if we look closely the difference is in the details. The textures, the fabrics. Camilla chose a pale pink set that matched perfectly with the color palette chosen by the other ladies.

Respiremos fundo. A nossa querida Kate escolheu Elie Saab o que provocou um grande suspiro colectivo por parte dos seguidores de moda real. Elie Saab é conhecido pelos seus designs LINDOS e há muito tempo que muitas pessoas gostariam de ver as suas criações no closet da Duquesa de Cambridge. Eu quero muito gostar deste look no seu todo, até porque Kate usou sapatos e uma clutch prateada, por amor de Deus!! Mas...A blusa não me convenceu. AMEI a saia. ADOREI os acessórios. A cor é LINDA. Gostei do chapéu e do penteado. Se a parte de cima não tivesse renda nem aquele laço ao pescoço, teria ficado muito melhor. Além disso, se vamos escolher um Elie Saab, podíamos escolher uma coisa um pouco diferente dos Temperley London ( aqui e aqui) que já temos em casa, certo Kate?
Por último, uma blusa Elie Saab com decote redondo e laço ao pescoço...quanto tempo até vermos este modelo na Princesa da Coroa Victoria da Suécia, hum?

Anne não está para se chatear. Veste qualquer conjunto já visto na década de 80 ou 90 e coloca uma chapéu com plumas e está feito.
Anne 's time is precious and she keeps things simple. Wears any set already seen in the 80's or 90's and puts on a feathered hat and it's done.

Bea também recebeu a mensagem no grupo de família no Whatsapp para se vestir de azul. Este vestido casaco é bonitinho, mas não achei que lhe assentasse maravilhosamente bem e não gostei de ver aquele chapéu ali.
Bea also received the message in the Whatsapp family group to wear blue. This coatdress is cute, but I did not think it suited her beautifully well and I did not like to see that hat there.

Podemos contar sempre com Eugenie para apimentar as coisas. Gostei muito deste vestido e da sua cor, embora me parecesse demasiado fresco para a temperatura que devia estar e a costura na zona do peito também não foi a mais feliz.. Gostei do toque de amarelo no chapéu, embora não tivesse gostado do chapéu em si e gostaria que ela tivesse usado uma clutch amarela. Bonita mas não deslumbrante.
We can always count on Eugenie to spice things up. I really liked this dress and its color, although it seemed too cool for the temperature it should be and the seam in the chest area was also not the happiest .I liked the touch of yellow on the hat, although I did not like the hat itself and I wish she had worn a yellow clutch.. Beautiful but not stunning.

Normalmente Sophie (que hoje celebra 20 anos de casamento! Yeah!!) arranca-me sempre grandes suspiros neste evento. Não foi no primeiro dia. Estava bonita mas não inesquecível. O chapéu forrado no seu interior com o mesmo tecido do vestido tem tudo para fazer lembrar um papel de embrulho, mas eu achei piada.
Usually Sophie (who celebrates 20 years of marriage today!) always gives me big sighs at this event. It didn't happen on the first day. Sheas was pretty but not unforgettable. The hat lined inside with the same fabric as the dress has everything to resemble a wrapping paper, but I found it fun.

Ora Zara conseguiu unir na perfeição os tons nude e azuis escolhidos pelas familiares neste bonito vestido floral. Adorei apesar do vestido em si ser apenas bonito pelo padrão.
And than was Zara who was able to perfectly combine the nude and blue tones chosen by the family in this beautiful floral dress. I loved it though the dress itself is just beautiful because of the floral pattern!
