Summer is here! Which is an ironic expression for the readers in Portugal at the moment. And summer and royalty are synonymous with traditional summer photo shoots. Not all royal houses do this kind of stuff, but it's something I really like, especially when these families take the opportunity to promote some of the tourist attractions of their countries.

As Férias começaram. Desejamos a todos umas boas férias."

In the social media, the following caption: "The exams and stress are over. Holidays have begun. We wish you all a good vacation."

The introduction of the railway lines brought more tourists. In 1893 the old Monastery underwent a process of restoration so that one could observe the grandeur of the Church. In 1972 the ruins of the Abbey of Villers were denominated Historic Patrimony of Belgium, seeing assured a permanent restoration. It is estimated that at present the ruins receive more than 100,000 tourists a year, and in addition, the venue hosts some important events such as the annual Nuit Des Choeurs Choir Festival, in which several gospel, jazz and pop choirs, from different backgrounds perform during several nights, culminating in a fireworks show.
