Princesa Mette-Marit abre exposição sobre o papel das Rainhas Medievais / Crown Princess Mette-Marit opens exhibition about the role of medieval Queens

The desire to continue talking about Denmark and its Princesses is big, my friends. It's huge! But I will control myself and travel to neighboring Norway where very interesting things happened too!

Recent research shows that the medieval Queens played a more important role than previously thought, often playing a strong active role in the Kingdom governance, ruling side by side with the King. Many of the Queen consorts were foreign and brought with them new cultural expressions that were incorporated into Norwegian society, thus contributing to an increase in the cultural diversity of their host country.

During this inauguration, Mette-Marit confessed a curious fact. As the European correspondent  for Royal Central, Oskar Aanmoen tells us, the future Queen of Norway said that her eldest daughter, Princess Ingrid Alexandra, should have be named Tyra Eufemia, but both Mette-Marit and her husband, Crown Prince Haakon, thought it would be a rather special name and did not dare to use it. The Crown Princess also confessed that probably if the girl was born today she would not be called Ingrid Alexandra neither, although they were very pleased with the name.
