Hoje celebra-se o Dia Nacional da Bélgica. O feriado nacional de 21 de Julho assinala a subida ao trono, em 1831, do Rei Leopoldo I, primeiro Rei dos Belgas e tio da Rainha Victoria do Reino Unido. Este dia também marca o aniversário da entronização do actual Rei Philippe da Bélgica.
As celebrações começaram ontem.
Today is National Day in Belgium. The national holiday of July 21 marks the accession to the throne in 1831 of King Leopold I, first King of the Belgians and uncle of Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom. This day also marks the anniversary of the enthronement of the current King Philippe of Belgium.

O Rei Philippe e a Rainha Mathilde inauguraram as exposições de Verão que serão exibidas no Palácio Real em Bruxelas. Todos os anos o Palácio Real é aberto ao público durante o Verão.
Este ano os visitantes poderão ver, a partir do próximo dia 22 de Julho, uma série de exposições que este ano têm como tema "Ciência e Cultura no Palácio". Foram várias as instituições cientificas e culturais belgas que deram o seu contributo para a organização desta grande montra de exposições que todos poderão visitar até 3 de Setembro de 2017.
King Philippe and Queen Mathilde have inaugurated the summer exhibitions that will be in display at the Royal Palace in Brussels. Every year the Royal Palace is open to the public during the summer.
This year, visitors will be able to see, from next July 22, a series of exhibitions under the theme "Science and Culture in the Palace". Several Belgian scientific and cultural institutions have contributed to the organization of this large showcase of exhibitions that everyone can visit until 3 September 2017.

"Hoje, vivemos um espírito de optimismo sobre a nossa economia e mercado de trabalho. A nova dinâmica europeia parece estar tomando forma. Então, como aproveitar o momento? Aprender, num sentido amplo, é a chave para alcançar este objectivo. Aprender dos outros e com os outros.

Na era do conhecimento imediato e omnipresente, há que ser responsável e aprender a interpretar os fatos e emitir um juízo de valor com conhecimento de causa. 'É verdade. 'É justo. 'É bom". Finalmente, ao encontrar-mo-nos com uma outra cultura é também uma oportunidade para aprender uns com os outros. Há um mês e meio, fui celebrar o fim do jejum com uma família muçulmana belga. Fiquei impressionado com a forma como cada membro da família está envolvida na sociedade. Aprendi muito sobre o significado que eles dão ao jejum e a esse momento de reencontro. Quando sai de sua casa, tarde à noite, eu fui saudado pelos seus vizinhos. Ofereceram-me uma garrafa de vinho e disseram-me como eles eram felizes a viver neste bairro. Fiquei orgulhoso de ver coexistir connosco, lado a lado, essas duas maneiras simples de expressar a verdadeira hospitalidade.
Finally, meeting ourselves with another culture is also an opportunity to learn from each other. A month and a half ago, I was celebrating the end of the fast with a Belgian Muslim family. I was impressed with how each member of the family is involved in society. I learned a lot about the meaning they give to fasting and this moment of reunion. When I left his house late at night, I was greeted by their neighbors. They offered me a bottle of wine and told me how happy they were to live in this neighborhood. I was proud to see these two simple ways of expressing true hospitality coexist with us side by side.
Nem todas as nossas ruas são assim. Mas este exemplo mostra-nos que existe, no nosso país, muito mais do que às vezes acreditamos, uma comunhão de valores para além das diferenças. Procurar aprender dos outros e com os outros. Vão descobrir que compartilham as mesmas perguntas, as mesmas dúvidas, as mesmas esperanças, e os mesmos sonhos que os vossos vizinhos. Eles também estão preocupados com o bem-estar dos seus filhos, a qualidade do seu trabalho, a saúde dos seus doentes ou dos mais velhos. Temos que saber ensinar às nossas crianças essa forma de ver o mundo. O bem-estar e felicidade que todos buscamos, só têm valor se forem genuinamente compartilhados.
Not all our streets are like this. But this example shows us that in our country, there is much more than we sometimes believe, there is a communion of values beyond differences. A Rainha e eu vemos todos os dias o que significa um enriquecimento mútuo nas numerosas iniciativas de solidariedade e ajuda mútua. Seja no caso dos sem-abrigo, na ajuda aos deficientes, ou, mais amplamente, em qualquer forma de apoio aos mais vulneráveis entre nós. Tais iniciativas são verdadeiras pérolas para o nosso país. Eles mostram-nos a riqueza oculta do mais frágil.
Tenho a certeza que todos nós podemos colher os benefícios da nova dinâmica que parece estar a querer começar. Façamos para tentar aprender a cada dia, com aqueles que nos precederam, com os mais novos, com os nossos vizinhos, com aqueles que consideramos diferentes. Apenas é necessário olhar para além da diferença
The Queen and I see every day what mutual enrichment means in the numerous initiatives of solidarity and mutual aid. Whether it is the homeless, the help for the disabled, or, more broadly, in any form of support for the most vulnerable among us. Such initiatives are true pearls for our country. They show us the hidden richness of the most fragile.I'm sure we can all reap the benefits of this new emerging dynamic. Hoje em dia é fácil criar vários rótulos numa sociedade amedrontada por minorias radicais, por preconceitos generalizados e pela necessidade que todos temos de ter uma opinião válida. E as nossa crianças, o nosso futuro, estão a crescer com todos esses paradigmas e a absorver todos os nossos medos, desconhecimento e ....opiniões. É preciso criar um novo nível de consciência, em que valores como a Generosidade, a Solidariedade, a Família e o sentido de serviço à Comunidade e colaboração entre cidadãos sejam mais visíveis e mais fortes que qualquer medo, rótulo ou opinião generalizada. Somos melhores, unidos e temos tanto para dar e receber uns dos outros. A Utopia não é um fim. É um meio!]
[I really get thrilled with these speeches. Seeking unity in diversity has always been one of my greatest ambitions. Nowadays it is easy to create various labels in a society that is frightened by radical minorities, by widespread prejudices and by the need we all have to have a valid opinion. And our children, our future, are growing with all these paradigms and absorbing all our fears, ignorance and ... opinions. It is necessary to create a new level of awareness in which values such as Generosity, Solidarity, Family and the sense of service to the community and collaboration between citizens are more visible and stronger than any generalized fear, label or opinion. We are better, united, and have so much to give and to receive from each other. Utopia is not an end. It's a mean!]

Outro aspecto muito interessante deste discurso foi o facto de podermos ver ao fundo um móvel onde se encontram várias molduras com fotografias de caras conhecidas da realeza mundial. Podemos ver a Rainha Elizabeth II, o Imperador e Imperatriz do Japão, o Rei e a Rainha da Holanda, Felipe VI e Letizia de Espanha, os Grã-Duques do Luxemburgo e ainda o Príncipe e Princesa da Coroa da Dinamarca. E aposto que todas as fotografias estão assinadas! 😂
Another very interesting aspect of this speech was the fact that we can see at the background several frames with photographs of well known royal faces. We can see Queen Elizabeth II, the Emperor and Empress of Japan, the King and Queen of the Netherlands, Philip VI and Letizia of Spain, the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess of Luxembourg and the Crown Prince Couple of Denmark. And I bet all the photos are signed! 😂
De noite o Rei e a Rainha, juntamente com a Princesa Astrid e o Príncipe Lorenz assistiram ao concerto que todos os anos antecede as celebrações da Festa Nacional. O concerto é uma oferta do Concurso Musical Internacional Rainha Elisabeth e conta com a participação da Orquestra Nacional da Bélgica.
In the evening the King and Queen, together with Princess Astrid and Prince Lorenz attended the concert which precedes the celebrations of the National Day each year. The concert is an offer of the Queen Elisabeth International Music Contest and counts with the participation of the National Orchestra of Belgium.
Mathilde usou um vestido vermelho simples e acessórios dourados. Estava linda, porque esta mulher tem simplesmente uma luz própria que muito poucas mulheres da realeza têm.
Mathilde wore a simple red dress and gold accessories. It was beautiful, because this woman simply has a light of her own that very few royal women have.
