Eu sei que para muitos o T&T é um local de escape, um sitio onde podem divertir-se e talvez sonhar um pouco mais com este mundo da realeza. Mas também sei que tenho tentado ao máximo tornar este espaço mais consciente e abrangente. Torná-lo muito mais do que um blog de realeza. Somos todos parte de uma tribo de Royal watchers, mas somos acima de tudo parte desta tribo chamada Humanidade! E deixem que vos diga que nós humanos, somos capazes de coisas terríveis, mas também somos capazes de, perante o inexplicável, puxar de dentro nós aquilo que nos torna diferentes de outros animais: Consciência!
I know that for many T & T is an escape place, a place where you can have fun and maybe dream a little more with this royal world. But I also know that I have tried so hard to make this space more conscious and comprehensive. Make it so much more than just another royalty blog. We are all part of a tribe of Royal watchers, but we also are, above all, part of this tribe called Humanity! And let me tell you that we humans are capable of terrible things, but we are also able, facing the inexplicable, to pull from within ourselves the only thing that makes us different from other animals: Consciousness!


Na Sexta-feira passada Estocolmo foi alvo de mais um ataque terrorista. Digo "mais um" porque todos os dias acontecem centenas ou milhares de ataques terroristas. O acto de "espalhar terror" não tem credo, cor, nacionalidade, idade, género...Não é apenas noticia quando acontece no mundo ocidental, e não tem origem em apenas uma causa ou organização. A Suécia, um dos países mais seguros do mundo, viu a sua paz e calmaria ser abalada, quando um homem, conduzindo um camião atropelou varias pessoas numa rua pedestre da capital sueca matando 4 pessoas e ferindo mais de uma dezena. Ataques deste tipo, matam menos pessoas, mas tendem a acontecer com muito mais frequência e são muito mais difíceis de controlar.
Last Friday Stockholm was targeted by another terrorist attack. I say "another" because every day there are hundreds or thousands of terrorist attacks. The act of "spreading terror" has no creed, color, nationality, age, gender ... It is not only news when it happens in the Western world, and it does not originate in just one cause or organization. Sweden, one of the safest countries in the world, has seen its peace and calm be shaken when a man driving a truck hit several people in a pedestrian street in the Swedish capital killing 4 people and injuring more than a dozen. Attacks of this type kill fewer people, but tend to happen much more often and are much more difficult to control.



No dia seguinte, a Princesa da Coroa Victoria da Suécia visitou o local do ataque juntamente com o Príncipe Daniel e depositou um ramo de rosas vermelhas em homenagem às vítimas. Confrontada com o que estava a sentir neste momento, Victoria, futura Rainha da Suécia, não escondeu as suas emoções. Chorou. Mas as lágrimas e a tristeza e consternação visíveis não a impediram de expressar a sua dor, mas também transmitir aquilo que um líder deve transmitir ao seu povo: esperança.
The next day, Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden visited the scene of the attack along with Prince Daniel and deposited a bunch of red roses in honor of the victims. Asked about how she was feeling at the moment, Victoria, the future Queen of Sweden, did not hide her emotions. She cried. But the tears and visible sadness and consternation did not stop her from expressing her pain, but also conveyed what a leader must convey to his people: Hope.

Confrontada com um jornalista que lhe perguntou " Como seguimos em frente?", a futura Rainha da Suécia respondeu com uma simples palavra:  "Juntos". Esta terá sido certamente a melhor resposta possível e aquela que é preciso realmente assimilar e compreender. Um sociedade fragmentada e dividida é incapaz de responder a qualquer adversidade. Uma sociedade unida e assente em valores imutáveis é inabalável e consegue, mesmo que abalada, extrair o melhor de cada ser humano e colocar isso ao serviço da comunidade.
Confronted with a journalist who asked her "How do we move on?", The future Queen of Sweden replied with a simple word: "Together". This has certainly been the best possible response and the one that we really need to assimilate and understand. A fragmented and divided society is incapable of responding to any adversity. A society united and based on immutable values ​​is unshakeable and succeeds, even if shaken, to extract the best of each human being and put it at the service of the community.




Victoria no dia dos atentados actuava como Regente, dada a ausência do rei Carl XVI Gustaf e da Rainha Sílvia, em viagem oficial ao Brasil. Após ouvir as noticias dos atentados, o Rei e a Rainha regressaram imediatamente à Suécia. Após uma reunião com gabinete de crise, o Rei falou ao país:
Victoria on the day of the attacks acted as Regent, given the absence of King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia, on an official trip to Brazil. After hearing the news of the attacks, the King and Queen returned immediately to Sweden. After a meeting with a crisis cabinet, the King spoke to the country:


"Ontem quando estava no Brasil, chegaram-se as noticias deste terrivel evento em Estocolmo; naturalmente regressei imediatamente à Suécia.
Acabei de reunir com o Chefe e da Polícia e com o Chefe da Segurança Policial.  Eles informaram-me e ao resto da família real do trabalho das forças policiais após o ataque de ontem. Primeiro que tudo, quero expressar que os meus pensamentos e do resto da Família Real estão com vítimas deste hediondo acto - com aqueles que foram feridos e com os que acabaram por morrer.
Também pensamos nas suas famílias e amigos. Estamos unidos na sua tristeza e ansiedade.
Estamos todos abalados com o que aconteceu. Mas também nos dá esperança ver o cuidado que as pessoas mostram uns aos outros. Demonstra o poder de nossa sociedade.
Todos nós que queremos ajudar somos muitos mais do que aqueles que desejam prejudicar-nos. Esse conhecimento dá-me conforto e confiança.
A polícia, os serviços médicos e de resgate têm feito um trabalho incrível ao minimizar os danos. Agora, é importante que eles continuem a trabalhar em paz e sossego.
Tivemos vários incidentes violentos no passado. Mas superamos isso nessa altura, e devemos fazê-lo agora.
A Suécia é há muito tempo, e continuará a ser um país seguro e pacífico. " 
"Yesterday, when I was on location in Brazil, I was reached by the news of the terrible event in Stockholm; it was natural for me to immediately return home to Sweden.
I have just finished meeting with the Chief of Police and the Chief of the Security Police. They have informed the Royal Family and me of the police work after yesterday’s attack.
First and foremost, I want to express that my and the Royal Family’s thoughts go to the victims of this heinous deed – fellows who have been injured and have been killed.
We also think of their families and friends. We are familiar with them in their grief and anxiety.
We are all shaken by what happened. It is also hopeful to see the care that people show each other. It demonstrates the power of our society.
All of us who want to help are many more than those who wish us harm. That knowledge gives me comfort and confidence.
Police, medical and rescue services have done an amazing job of minimising the damage. Now, it is important for them to continue working in peace and quiet.
We have experienced several violent incidents in the past. We have done it then, and we should do it now.
Sweden is, has long been, and will continue to be a safe and peaceful country."

E prova que o medo não impede que o melhor de cada ser humano venha ao de cima, milhares de pessoas saíram ontem às ruas de Estocolmo num encontro que encheu a zona do atentado de sentimentos que terror algum pode vencer: esperança, união, tolerância, amor, generosidade! Estas são e sempre serão as formas mais eficazes para a Humanidade permanecer....humana!!
And it proves that fear does not prevent the best of every human being from coming to the top, thousands of people left yesterday in the streets of Stockholm in a gathering that filled the area of the attack of feelings that no terror can destroy: hope, unity, tolerance, love, generosity! These are and always will be the most effective ways for Humanity to remain .... human !!
