Recordar os últimos momentos de 2016 / Remember some last events from 2016

Given that some of our royal houses have not yet resumed their schedules, I bring you some Holidays's treats.

E claro, temos sempre a Estelle e a Leonore.
The Swedish royal house has released a new photo of all its main elements. The moment was captured at the Solliden Palace during the summer holidays in July 2016. Also, as usual SVT held a program with the main activities of the Swedish royal family in 2016. I never understand much of what they say, but we always have the opportunity to see moments never seen before. And, of course, we allways have Estelle and Leonore.

Like the Swedish neighbor, a new photograph of Queen Margrethe II and Prince Henrik with their 8 grandchildren was also released in Denmark. The photograph was released at Christmas time.

Also in Denmark a DR.dk annual program is held with the main activities of the members of the royal family. Once again, I do not understand anything, but it's worth it ...

What was also worth was the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have decided to spend Christmas with the Middletons this year.

Otherwise we would not have seen G. and Lottie accompany their parents and the rest of the maternal family to Sunday's usual Mass (On Sandringham tradition they are still quite young to attend the event). Extra points for a photoshoot opportunity, thanks to invited accredited photographers and for Kate's renewed coat.

As for the other members of the British royal family at the usual Christmas Mass, given the absence of the Quee, they were led to the local Church by the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of the Cornwall.

On this day the Countess of Wessex dazzled with this look. I'm still not sure about that hat for the occasion, but I loved the dress.

E claro, Eugenie!!!! Amei as cores!
And, of course, Eugenie !!!! I loved the colors!

As melhoras, Majestade!
For those interested, the Queen still finds herself recovering from a heavy cold. According to her daughter, Princess Anne, the sovereign is feeling better, but was advised not to go out. Get well soon, Your Majesty!

  1. Hello:

I always smile when you write about the Cambridge babies as you us the sweetest and most endearing forms of their names!

Please don't take this the wrong way. I noticed the use of the word "constipation" to describe her Majesty's recent bout with a bad cold. I am thinking that this is a typo or else in the Portuguese language the word has quite a different meaning! In the English language the word means "lack of or difficult bowel movement".

    Have a Happy New Year.

    1. Hello RW. Thanks for your comment. I don't like the name George, so I call him G. As for Charlotte, I do love the name, but I think she is such a cute pie that Lottie suits her so well.
Regarding the cold and constipation issues. The correct portuguese word for cold is "constipação", but Google translator (on its best), often translate it for "constipation", which, as you said is a completly different thing. "Constipation" in portuguese is "obstipação". So constipação in portuguese and constipation in english are very similar words with different meanings. But, I think I replaced on the post "constipation" for "cold", right? But maybe when you read it, you saw the wrong word.

Thanks anyway. Happy New Year for you too!

  2. Hello:

Thank you for the explanation. When I hear Portuguese spoken, to my ears it sounds so "foreign" that I would never have imagined that the Portuguese and the English language have similar words.

The Cambridge's babies are darlings. I was delighted with each new photo of them at the garden party. Ms. Lottie is so out-going and for lack of a better phrase to describe her, "colorful" which I just love. The nickname you have for her is ever so sweet!

Thank you for your blog and all the best for the New Year.

    RW.

    1. Indeed. English and Portuguese are quite different, but yet we have similar words (not exactly meaning the same....). Where are you from?
Thanks again for your lovely comments.
