Alegrem-se! As Visitas de Estado começaram, o que significa que as tiaras estão de volta. E onde foi a primeira? Na Dinamarca, é claro!
Rejoice! The State Visits have begun, which means the tiaras are back. And where was the first? In Denmark, of course!
Eram 10:00 da manhã (hora dinamarquesa) quando a Rainha Margrethe II, muito elegante num conjunto branco, juntamente com o Príncipe Henrik deram as boas-vindas ao Presidente da Islândia, Guðni Thorlacius Johannesson e à Primeira-Dama Eliza Jean Reid no Palácio Christian VII, em Copenhaga. Trata-se da primeira Visita de Estado realizada pelo mais recente Presidente da Islândia, eleito a 1 de Agosto de 2016.
It was 10:00 am (Danish time) when Queen Margrethe II, very elegant in a white ensemble, together with Prince Henrik welcomed the President of Iceland, Guðni Thorlacius Johannesson and First Lady Eliza Jean Reid in the Christian VII Palace in Copenhagen. This is the first State Visit for the most recent President of Iceland, elected on 1 August 2016.

Esta visita de estado de três dias tem como objectivo fortalecer os laços entre os dois países aliados comerciais e económicos com uma estreita ligação histórica e cultural em comum- recorde-se que a Islândia foi um território do Reino da Dinamarca até 1918. De 1918-1944, a Islândia tinha estatuto de Estado soberano em união pessoal com o Rei da Dinamarca (Acto da União). Este estatuto seria válido por 25 anos, altura em que um referendo foi votado e a República foi implantada.

De entre os vários compromissos que levaram a cabo durante o dia, o Casal Presidencial visitou o Palácio Christianborg onde puderam admirar as obras de arte, como quadros e tapeçarias existentes nos vário salões do Palácio.

Mais tarde a Rainha e o casal participaram num evento onde foi apresentado o presente nacional islandês. Trata-se de um conjunto de sagas islandesas, traduzidas para dinamarquês, que estarão acessíveis em bibliotecas dinamarquesas e institutos de ensino superior do país.

Ao início da noite vários convidados começaram a chegar para o Jantar de Estado, oferecido pela Rainha e pelo Príncipe Henrik no Palácio Christian VII, em honra do casal islandês. Presentes vários membros da família real, governo, parlamento, delegação islandesa e vários representantes do corpo empresarial dos dois países, entre outros.

A chegada da Família Real e ilustres convidados é aguardada com antecipação e feita com todo o estilo. Seguiram-se os discursos da Rainha e do Presidente. A Rainha no seu discurso apontou as fortes ligações e objectivos comuns que ligam os dois países, não esquecendo o passado histórico em comum:

Confesso que Daisy estava deslumbrante. O verde do vestido (talvez uma menção às planícies verdejantes da Islândia) combinou na perfeição com a tiara Naasut. Já algum tempo que não víamos esta peça e eu fiquei muito contente por vê-la novamente.
I confess that Daisy was gorgeous. The green dress (perhaps a mention of the green plains of Iceland) combined perfectly with the Naasut tiara. For some time we did not see this piece and I was very glad to see it again.

Mary reciclou um conjunto usado no Jantar de Estado em 2010. Mas como se trata de Mary, o top de renda preto está ligeiramente alterado. Gostei do conjunto. Estava sóbria e elegante. A princesa da Coroa escolheu a sua nova tiara favorita, uma aquisição pessoal composta por diamantes e rubis e que pode ser usada como colar. Cada vez mais esta tiara ganha pontos.
Mary recycled a set used at the State Dinner in 2010. But as it comes to Mary, the black lace top is slightly altered. I liked the set. She was sober and elegant. The Crown Princess has chosen her new favorite tiara, a personal purchase made up of diamonds and rubies that can be used as a necklace. Increasingly, this tiara earns points.

Marie, à semelhança da cunhada, também optou por preto. Tenho muitas dúvidas acerca do corte e forma do vestido, mas adorei o toque burgundy dos acessórios. Como é hábito, a Princesa optou pela sua Tiara Floral Princesa Dagmar. Ontem a filha do casal, a Princesa Athena fez 5 anos. Podem ver as novas fotos aqui.

A Princesa Benedikte trouxe um toque de cor à noite. A irmã da Rainha optou por um vestido vermelho que completou com a sua Tiara de Pérolas e Estrelas da Rainha Sophia.
