Príncipe Harry no Concerto Sentebale / Prince Harry at Sentebale Concert

Este post vem com um dia de atraso, mas antes tarde do que nunca.
O Príncipe Harry abriu os jardins do Palácio de Kensignton para um concerto em ajuda à organização Sentebale, da qual é co-fundador.
This post came a day late, but better late than never.
Prince Harry opened the Kensington Palace Gardens for a concert in aid of Sentebale, an organization of which he is co-founder.


Sentebale foi fundada em 2006 pelo Príncipe Harry de Gales e pelo Príncipe Seeiso do Lesoto. Os dois conheceram-se quando Harry esteve a fazer trabalho voluntário no país africano, ajudando crianças e jovens vulneráveis.
The charity was founded in 2006 by Prince Harry of Wales and Prince Seeiso of the Lesotho . Prince Harry met Prince Seeiso on his gap year in Lesotho and was moved to help vulnerable children and young people in the country.

Sentebale
Sentebale significa "Não me esqueças" na língua do Lesoto e foi o nome escolhido como tributo ao trabalho caritativo das mães dos seus dois fundadores, assim como um lembrete para que o Lesoto não se esqueça das suas próprias crianças.
Sentebale means 'Forget me not' in Sesotho and the name was chosen as a memorial to the charity work of its founders own mothers, as well as a reminder to all not to forget Lesotho or its children.

O país africano tem a terceira taxa mais elevada  a nível mundial de pessoas infectadas com o vírus HIV e mais de 37,000 crianças com menos de 14 anos vivem com esta patologia. O país possui cerca de 400,000 orfãos e crianças estão em condições vulneráveis. Cerca de 22% da população.
Lesotho has the 3rd highest rate of HIV in the world and there are over 37,000 children under 14 living with HIV. The country has 400,000 orphans and vulnerable children. It's around 22% of its total population.


Esta organização trabalha com crianças vulneráveis e com as suas comunidades, encorajando-as a desenvolverem o seu máximo potencial, obtendo apoio, educação e cuidados.
Sentebale works with vulnerable children and their communities, empowering them to reach their full potential. Through our work, these adolescents are able to get the care, education and support they need.


O objectivo do concerto foi alertar para a quantidade de adolescentes que vivem com HIV no sul de África. Apenas 1 em cada 3 crianças têm acesso a cuidados de saúde do quais necessitam de modo a viver vidas saudáveis.
The concert was about raising awareness of adolescents living with HIV in southern Africa. Just 1 in 3 children are accessing the care they desperately need to live long and healthy lives.

O estigma é a principal barreira para aquelas que não têm acesso a tratamento. 
Stigma is the biggest barrier to those not accessing treatment.

O concerto pode contar com grandes nomes da música como Coldplay, George The Poet , Laura Mvula , Nico & Vinz e Joss Stone.
But tonight is about much more than just incredible music from Coldplay, George The Poet , Laura Mvula , Nico & Vinz and Joss Stone.

Do Lesoto vieram várias crianças membros do Coro Juvenil Bashoto que também actuaram no evento.
From Lesotho came several children members of the Bashoto Youth Choir, who also performed at the event.

No seu discurso Harry relembrou os principais objectivos que o levaram, juntamente com o Príncipe Seeiso a fundar Sentebale:
In his speech Harry recalled the main objectives that led, along with Prince Seeiso to found Sentebale:

"Eu e o meu amigo, o Príncipe Seeiso, fundámos Sentebale para fazer o que pudessemos para apoiar os jovens do Lesoto - para empoderar uma geração com conhecimentos e compreensão para que eles pudessem dar ao seu país um futuro diferente e mais brilhante." 
“My friend Prince Seeiso and I founded Sentebale to do what we could to support the young people of Lesotho – to empower a generation with knowledge and understanding so they can give their country an alternative, brighter future."

Harry quis deixar também um apelo a todos os que se deslocaram ao concerto naquela noite:
Harry also wanted to make an appeal to all who went to the concert that night:

" Se se comoveram pelas histórias que ouviram, tirem um pouco do vosso tempo para saber mais acerca da luta contra o HIV em países como o Lesoto, por toda a África e também aqui no Reino Unido. Este é um tópico que geralmente não está nos cabeçalhos dos jornais, mas que continua a ser um desafio urgente. No sul de África esta epidemia continua a ser a causa de morte número um nos adolescentes." 
"If you have been moved by the stories that you’ve heard, please commit to taking a little bit of time to learn about the fight against HIV in places like Lesotho, throughout Africa, and here in the UK as well.“This is a topic that has drifted from the headlines, but remains an urgent challenge. In southern Africa, the epidemic remains the biggest killer of adolescents." 

Harry vai mais longe e chama a atenção para a realidade no Reino Unido:
Harry goes further and draws attention to the reality in the UK:

"Aqui no Reino Unido, nunca tantas pessoas estiveram infectadas com o vírus como agora. Cada um de nós tem a responsabilidade de nos educarmos. Para fazer aquilo que for preciso para falar e colocar um fim ao silêncio, à ignorância e ao medo do qual este vírus se alimenta para ganhar. Precisamos de seguir o exemplo dos jovens do Lesoto e enfrentar um dos maiores desafios da nossa geração com optimismo, energia e abertura." 
"Here in the UK, more people have the virus than ever before.“What we know is that HIV is a virus that thrives off silence and feeds on stigma. Every single one of us has a responsibility to educate ourselves. To do what we can to speak out and stamp out the silence, ignorance, and fear that the virus needs to win.“We must follow the example of the young people of Lesotho, and meet one of the great challenges of our generation with optimism, energy, and openness."

No mesmo dia, o Palácio de Kensington anunciou que o Príncipe Harry vai continuar a trabalhar na prevenção e luta contra o HIV através de vários projectos, e à semelhança do que fez em África, Harry irá dedicar-se a chamar a atenção para os números e dados de luta contra a SIDA no Reino Unido e um pouco por todo o Mundo.
On the same day, Kensington Palace announced that Prince Harry will continue to work in the prevention and fight against HIV through various projects, and as he has done in Africa, Harry will engage in drawing attention to the numbers and data to combat AIDS in the UK and all over the world.


Harry parece assim determinado a continuar a apoiar uma das causas estrela da sua falecida mãe, Diana, Princesa de Gales.
Harry seems so determined to continue to support one of the star causes of his late mother, Diana, Princess of Wales.

Já para o próximo mês, Harry irá visitar unidades de cuidado a pacientes na zona sul de Londres, uma das zonas da Europa onde a concentração de pessoas seropositivas é maior.
Next month, Harry will visit care units for patients in south London, one of the areas in Europe where the concentration of HIV-positive people is higher.


Harry também irá participar na África do Sul, na  2016 International AIDS Conference.

 No concerto, Harry contou com o apoio de vários primos: as Princesas Beatrice e Eugenie de York, Peter e Autumn Philips e Mike Tindall
At the concert, Harry had the support of several cousins: Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie of York, Peter and Autumn Philips and Mike Tindall.

Esta causa não é nova para Harry, ainda assim é óptimo saber que ele leva as suas causas para um novo patamar, com metas e objectivos bem definidos.
This is not a new cause for Harry, but it's still great to know that he takes his chrity work to a new level with goals and well-defined objectives.
