O Baptizado de Lottie / Lottie's Christening
O acontecimento mais esperado antes de irmos todos de férias (ou não!) teve lugar ontem no Reino Unido.
Os Duques de Cambridge baptizaram a sua filha, nascida no passado dia dois de Maio, na Capela de St. Mary Magdalene, em Sandrigham. Uma igreja tipicamente inglesa e que é palco todos os anos do habitual serviço religioso do Dia de Natal da família real britânica!

O acontecimento embora privado, acabou por ter um carácter mais aberto quando comparado com o baptizado do filho mais velho dos duques, em Outubro de 2013. O palácio de Kensignton informou embora não fossem permitido público durante o serviço religioso, os populares seriam bem vindos nas imediações para saudar a família.
The event though private, turned out to have a more open character when compared with the christening of the Dukes's eldest son in October 2013. The Palace of Kensington said though they were not allowed public during the service, well-wishers would be welcome to greet the family.

Ontem de manhã foram divulgados o nome dos cinco padrinhos escolhidos por William e Kate para acompanharem Charlotte no seu percurso de vida.

Se, comparativamente com George, o número de padrinhos foi mais reduzido ( 5 vs 7), a essência da escolha foi bastante semelhante: Ninguém com títulos reais, amigos próximos e alguns familiares. Confiança e Lealdade parecem ser as palavras de ordem do casal na hora de escolher os padrinhos dos seus filhos.

Muitos ficaram surpreendidos por mais uma vez, o Príncipe Harry e James e Pippa Middleton terem ficado de fora na escolha para padrinhos dos sobrinhos. A verdade é que como tios e tia, eles já terão um papel muito activo e presente na vida de G. e Lottie. Concordo com a ideia de se alargar um pouco o leque de escolhas.

Às 16h00 começaram a chegar os padrinhos. Havia três canais que anunciaram que iriam transmitir a chegada em LIVE STREAM. Nenhum funcionou nos timings correctos e a desilusão entre os Royal Watchers nas redes sociais foi enorme. Pelo menos a minha foi!

Adorei o look. Foi de longe bem melhor que o do baptizado do pequeno G. Penso que o penteado dá um toque de requinte e sofisticação a um look bastante simples e sem surpresas, mas que ainda assim conseguiu ser um dos melhores do ano para a Duquesa.
I loved the look. It was by far much better than the christening of the little G. I think the hairstyle gives a touch of elegance and sophistication to a very simple and not surprising look, but that still managed to be one of the best year for the Duchess.

Á saída da Igreja, a família estava visivelmente feliz. Como anunciado, todos se dirigiram para a Sandringham House onde seria servido chá e bolo. Bolo aliás parte do bolo de casamento dos Duques de Cambridge. Recorde-se que alguns andares do bolo de casamento confeccionado em 2011 foram preservados para serem servidos no baptismo dos filhos. Nunca irei compreender esta tradição...

It was truly an intimate affair in the sense that only family and godparents participated in the ceremony but royal watchers were also invited to witness the arrival and departure of the guest of honor and she did not disappoint. She is absolutely gorgeous! I know it is too early to tell but I think she looks a lot like the Duchess. Those blue eyes are so much like Princess Diana--cornflower blue. And Little G., as you have called him in the past, stole my heart. I love the photo of him conversing with great-granny...love to know what they are talking about and also peeking in the pram at his sister.
ResponderEliminarI read today, that in the photo where Prince William seems to be trying to convince Little G. something that he was asking for Grandma--it seems he felt that they were left behind at the church, but he told him that they were on their way to granny's house. As to whether this is true, we can only speculate but, it sounds plausible. What a feel good moment in time this event was--at least it was for this royal watcher!

Thanks for your comment. Yes, I read it too. William told him "They are coming". It was a lovely affair, I just feel sorry for we won´t be able to watch the private ceremony, like in anothers Royal Houses.
EliminarI am okay with not being able to see the ceremony. When one lives such a public life, there are going be events that are sacred and I for one respect that. Make it a great day!
