Tiaras estão de volta a Madrid / Tiaras are back in Madrid

Mais de três anos depois da última cena de gala oferecida durante uma Visita de um Chefe de Estado a Espanha, teve lugar na última segunda-feira o último Jantar de Estado do Rei Juan Carlos I.

Os Reis espanhóis e os Príncipes das Astúrias receberam no Palácio Real o Presidente do México Peña Nieto e a sua esposa, a primeira-dama Rivera de Peña.

More than three years after the last scene of gala offered during a visit of a Head of State at Spain, took place on last Monday the last State Dinner offered by King Juan Carlos I. 

The Spanish Kings and the Princes of Asturias received at the Royal Palace the President of Mexico Peña Nieto and his wife, First Lady Rivera de Peña.

E finalmente voltámos a ver as damas espanholas a usarem tiaras em solo nacional. Recordo que as constantes cirurgias a que Juan Carlos foi sujeito nos últimos anos, aliadas a todos os escândalos que têm envolvido a casa real espanhola e a crise económica e social vivida em Espanha limitaram bastante este tipo de eventos em Espanha.

And finally we were able to see once again the Spanish ladies with their tiaras on national soil. No entanto, e na minha opinião, já era tempo ( e nesta semana mais do que nunca) de nos lembrarem quem são e como representam Espanha.

As damas espanholas primaram pela sobriedade, como vem sendo hábito em recepções deste tipo. Muitos criticam o facto de vestirem tons muito escuros. A verdade é que é muito frequente as damas da casa real espanhola optarem por tons mais escuros em cenas de gala. E na minha opinião não há nada de errado nisso. Detesto comparações do género: "A Rainha Elizabeth II só veste preto durante o luto". Pois, quando é que as pessoas entendem que o resto das monarquias não são o Reino Unido?"

The Spanish ladies were conspicuous by their sobriety, as is traditional in such receptions. Many criticize the fact that they wore very dark shades. The truth is that it is very often the ladies of the Spanish royal house opt for darker shades in gala scenes. And in my opinion there is nothing wrong with that. I hate comparisons like: "Queen Elizabeth II wears only black during mourning." When is that people will understand that the rest of the monarchies are not like the UK?

Sofia escolheu para a sua despedida em jantares de estado enquanto Rainha, uma tiara digna de tal titulo. A Fleur de Lys, unicamente usada pela Rainha espanhola foi uma imponente escolha para uma ocasião muito especial e certamente muito emocionante para Sofia. A Princesa das Astúrias escolheu a bonita Tiara Floral que completou com uns brincos de diamantes, os mesmos que usou no seu casamento.

Sofia chose for her farewell from state dinners while Queen consort a  tiara worthy of such a title. The Fleur de Lys, only used by the Spanish Queen was an impressive choice for a very special and certainly very exciting occasion to Sofia. The Princess of Asturias chose the beautiful Floral Tiara which completed with a pair of diamond earrings, the same she used in her wedding day.

Em relação a moda, Letizia escolheu uma repetição. O bonito vestido Felipe Varela que usou no Jantar de Despedida da Rainha Beatrix da Holanda a 29 de Abril de 2013. Aliás o look foi bastante similar. A completar sapatos e clutch preta.

Regarding fashion, Letizia chose a repeat. The gorgeous gown by Felipe Varela the princess wore at the Farewell Dinner of Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands on 29 April 2013. In fact the whole look was quite similar. She matched with black shoes and black clutch.

Apesar do vestido preto evidenciar a figura magra de Letizia, sempre adorei este vestido e acho que futura Rainha de Espanha estava discreta e ainda assim deslumbrante!

Despite the black dress show the slim figure of Letizia, I always loved this dress and I think the future Queen of Spain was discreet yet stunning! 

Foi bom rever uma boa cena de Gala à espanhola. Acho que foi uma despedida legítima de Juan Carlos e Sofia!

It was good to see a good Gala Dinner once again in Spain. I think it was a legitimate farewell for Juan Carlos and Sofia!
