Hoje continuamos a recordar as festividades que antecederam o casamento real na Dinamarca há 10 anos atrás. Para quem só agora nos acompanha, esta semana é dedicada exclusivamente a Frederik e Mary.

Today we continue to remember the festivities leading up to the royal wedding in Denmark 10 years ago. For those who only joined us today, this week is dedicated exclusively to Frederik and Mary.

Anteriormente falámos de alguns dos eventos mais importantes em que Mary compareceu como noiva real. Com o aproximar do casamento, os eventos comemorativos da ocasião multiplicaram-se e é caso para dizer que os países nórdicos não brincam na hora de mimar os seus noivos reais.

Previously we talked about some of the most important events in which Mary attended as a royal bride. With the wedding approaching, the wedding related events multiplied and I must say that the Nordic countries do not play in time to pamper their royal couples.

Mary que o diga, pois mesmo antes de se tornar Princesa da Coroa, ela teve a rara oportunidade de usar tiara mesmo antes de se tornar esposa do futuro Rei (só me lembro de Máxima da Holanda ter a mesma honra). Hoje falaremos dos acontecimentos muito especiais de gala que tiveram lugar dias antes do enlace.

Mary may say so, because even before becoming Crown Princess, she had the rare opportunity to use a tiara even before becoming wife of the future King (I just remember the same happened with Maxima of The Netherlands). Today we will speak of the very special gala events that took place days before the big day.

Um dia que por certo, Mary não irá esquecer. A Rainha Margrethe ofereceu um banquete de gala em Christianborg. Entre os 350 convidados encontravam-se membros do governo, políticos e representantes da corte. Foi a primeira vez que Mary usou o famoso Parure de Rubis da Rainha Desirée. Foi também a primeira vez que a futura Princesa se apresentou com as insígnias da Ordem do Elefante. A mais importante condecoração dinamarquesa. A partir desta noite e após ter sido aprovada a Lei de Mary, esta plebeia nascida na Tasmânia entraria oficialmente para a História da Dinamarca.

One day that certainly Mary will never forget. Queen Margrethe hosted a gala banquet at Christiansborg. Among the 350 guests found themselves members of the government, politicians and representatives of the court. It was the first time that Mary used the famous Ruby Parure of Queen Desirée. It was also the first time that the future Princess wore the Order of the Elephant, the most important Danish order. Since that night and after Mary's Law approval, this commoner born in Tasmania officially step forward in history of Denmark.

Conseguem imaginar a sensação de usar pela primeira vez um conjunto de jóias desta importância? Não percebem a importância destas jóias? Eu explico: este impressionante conjunto de rubi, do qual fazem parte uma tiara, um colar, um par de brincos, um broche, uma pulseira (e ao que tudo indica um anel) foi originalmente um uma oferta do Imperador Napoleão à sua ex-noiva Desirée Clary. Desirée viria a casar com o Marchal Jean-Baptiste Bernadotte que viria a tornar-se Rei da Suécia e Noruega. Após a morte da Rainha Desirée o parure passou para a posse da sua nora a Rainha Josephine e posteriormente para a neta desta Louise que casaria com o Futuro Rei Frederik VIII da Dinamarca. Desde ai que este conjunto está reservado para a noiva/esposa do herdeiro do trono. Como tal passou pela Princesa da Coroa Alexandrine em 1898 e pela Princesa da Coroa Ingrid (nascida princesa da Suécia) em 1935, e mãe da actual soberana. Ingrid alterou substancialmente a tiara. Após a morte de Ingrid, o conjunto ficou a aguardar pela noiva do Príncipe Frederik. E foi essa a versão que Mary Donaldson. usou em 2004.

Can you imagine the feeling of first use a set of jewels of this importance ? Not realize the importance of these jewels? Let me explain: this awesome set of ruby, which comprises a tiara, a necklace , a pair of earrings , a brooch , a bracelet ( and it seems a ring ) was originally an offer from Emperor Napoleon to his former bride Desirée Clary. Desirée would marry Marchal Jean - Baptiste Bernadotte who was to become King of Sweden and Norway. After the death of Queen Desirée the parure passed into the possession of her daughter Queen Josephine and later to her granddaughter, Louise, who would marry the future King Frederik VIII of Denmark . Since there that this set is reserved for the bride / wife of the heir to the danish throne . As such it crossed to Crown Princess Alexandrine in 1898 and the Crown Princess Ingrid (née Princess of Sweden ) in 1935 , and mother of the current sovereign . Ingrid has substantially changed the tiara. After the death of Ingrid , the parure waited for a new owner, the bride of Prince Frederik . And so Mary Donaldson  wore it in 2004.

Nesta gala, entre outros, destaque para as presenças da Rainha Margrethe II, Princesa Alexandra, Princesa Benedikte, Rainha Anne-Marie da Grécia e para a Princesa Elizabeth da Dinamarca.

In this gala, among others, highlighting the presence of Queen Margrethe II, Princess Alexandra, Princess Benedikte, Queen Anne-Marie of Greece and Princess Elizabeth of Denmark.

Na véspera do casamento, o casal e familiares próximos foram recebidos no Parlamento Dinamarquês. A alegria era visível e nem o facto de Mary ter ficado sem chapéu à chegada ao local, fez com que ela não deixasse de soltar uma valente gargalhada e seguir em frente, como uma Princesa.

At the eve of the wedding, the couple and close family members were greeted at the Danish Parliament. The joy was visible, and not even the fact Mary's hat blew off on their arrival , couldn't hold a brave laugh and move on, like a Princess.

Para culminar uma semana de celebrações, tem lugar um Concerto de Gala no Teatro Real em Copenhaga.

Neste evento já estão presentes vários membros da Realeza mundial, concentrados na capital dinamarquesa para o casamento que teria lugar no dia seguinte.

Mary, usa pela segunda vez o Parure de rubis e aparece deslumbrante no belíssimo vestido vermelho, inspirado num dos vestidos da Rainha Ingrid (sempre simbolicamente presente nas celebrações).

O evento foi transmitido em directo pela TV2 dinamarquesa.

To culminate a week of celebrations, it took place a Gala Concert at the Royal Theatre in Copenhagen. 

In this event there are already several members of the world Royalty, concentrated in the Danish capital for the wedding that would take place the next day. 

Mary wore for the second time the Rubi Parure and dazzling on a gorgeous red dress, inspired by one of Queen Ingrid's gowns (often symbolically present in the celebrations). 

The event was broadcast live on Danish TV2.

Entre as convidadas (e conseguir imagens de qualidade deste evento 10 anos depois é mesmo um desafio), destaco o arrojo e sensualidade da próxima noiva de Maio, Letizia Ortiz na sua estreia em eventos reais europeus, a elegância áurea da Princesa Caroline de Hanover (quanto ainda usava as jóias da família do seu marido) e a jovialidade e frescura da Princesa Marie-Chantal da Grécia e Dinamarca (grávida do seu quarto filho).

Among the guests (and get quality pictures of the event 10 years later it's a challenge), I emphasize the boldness and sensuality of the next May's bride, Letizia Ortiz on her debut in European royal events, the golden elegance of Princess Caroline of Hanover (as she still wore the jewels of her husband's)  and  the youthfulness and freshness of Princess Marie-Chantal of Greece and Denmark (pregnant with her fourth child).

A gala e sumptuosidade da corte dinamarquesa está ao rubro e o reino aguarda o casamento real do dia seguinte. O vestirá a noiva e que jóias usará? O beijo ao balcão e a tradicional primeira dança (asfixiante) de casados. Tudo suspenso, à espera...

Amanhã Frederik e Mary celebram 10 anos de casamento, e nós festejaremos com eles.

The gala and sumptuousness of the Danish court is on fire and the kingdom awaits the royal wedding on the next day. What the bride will wear? Which jewelry she will use? The kiss at the balcony and the traditional first (smothering) dance as married couple. All in waiting...

Tomorrow Frederik and Mary celebrated 10 years of marriage, and we will celebrate with them.

Nota: Frederik e Mary encontram-se actualmente em visita oficial à Polónia. Com uma agenda super preenchida durante 3 dias, será que terão tempo para um momento romântico a dois?
