Catherine na Nova Zelândia / Catherine in New Zealand

Como tinha referido antes da pausa de uma semana, não irei fazer uma cobertura exaustiva aqui no blog do Tour Real do momento. Mas uma semana depois, a verdade é que não existem muitas novidades dignas de registo (no mundo da realeza).

Assim sendo farei uma rápida análise dos looks apresentados pela Duquesa de Cambridge nesta sua primeira visita à Austrália e Nova Zelândia.
As I had said before our one-week break, I will not do an exhaustive coverage here on the blog about the Royal Tour of the moment. But a week later, the truth is that there are not very much going on out there (royality speaking).
So I will briefly analyze the looks presented by the Duchess of Cambridge in her first visit to Australia and New Zealand.

Dia 3 / Day 3

No primeiro acto oficial do Príncipe G. de Cambridge (um playdate com vários bebés da mesma idade), a duquesa usou uma nova criação da designer Tory Burch (uma estreia para Catherine). O vestido preto e branco, com detalhes em renda é simples, elegante e apropriado. A única coisa que mudava eram os saltos altos. Umas sabrinas seriam mais indicadas para o tipo de actividade.
In the first official act of Prince G. Cambridge (a playdate with several babies with the same age), the Duchess wore a new creation from designer Tory Burch (a first for Catherine). The black and white dress with lace details is simple, elegant and appropriate. The only thing that I would change were the high heels. Some ballerinas would be most suitable for this type of activity.

Dia 4/ Day 4

No primeiro grande acto oficial, a Duquesa esteve no seu melhor com este look. Um casaco azul McQueen foi a escolha perfeita para um evento no exterior e com alguma solenidade. Adorei a cor, adorei a forma,adorei o rabo de cavalo (às vezes é o suficiente para marcar a diferença). A completar sapatos e clutch azul em camurça.

In the first major official act of the Tour, the Duchess was at her best with this look. A blue coat by Alexander McQueen was the perfect choice for an outsid event with some solemnity. Loved the color, loved the shape, loved the ponytail (sometimes that's all that takes to make a difference). To complete navy suede shoes and clutch.

Na recepção nocturna na Casa do Governador Geral, a Duquesa optou por uma criação exclusiva Jenny Packham. Um vestido preto, bastante simples, de mangas compridas, com decote à barco e abaixo do joelho. Três folhas de feto bordadas a fio de prata no ombro esquerdo (o feto prateado é o símbolo da Nova Zelândia) davam brilho e sofisticação a um look que apenas teve isso de bom. O preto realça demasiado a magreza da Duquesa e o comprimento do vestido ficou desadequado (desta vez por ser comprido de mais sem ser comprido o suficiente para ser um vestido de noite). Sapatos e clutch pretas também foram sinónimo de falta de versatilidade a meu ver.

In the evening reception at the House of the Governor General, the Duchess opted for an exclusive creation fromJenny Packham. A fairly simple, black long-sleeved dress with boat neckline and below the knee. Three ferns embroidered with silver thread on the left shoulder (the silver fern is the symbol of New Zealand) gave the so much needed bling and sophistication to a very dark look. And that detail was the only good thing about it. Black emphasizes too much the Duchess's thinness and the length of the dress was inappropriate (this time for being too long without being long enough to be an evening gown). Black shoes and clutch were also synonymous from a lack of versatility in my opinion.

Dia 5 / Day 5

Um dia mais descontraído (o casal competiu numa corrida de veleiros) que trouxe duas das piores imagens de marca da Duquesa. Skinny jeans e aqueles vertiginosos sapatos Wedges. Existe algo na combinação blazer e skinny jeans que não me agrada. Nada mesmo!
A casual and relaxed day (the couple competed in sailboats race) which brought two of the worst hallmarks of the Duchess. Skinny jeans and those vertiginous Wedges shoes. There is something in the skinny jeans and blazer combination that doesn´t pleases me. At all!

Dia 6 / Day 6

Depois de alguma esperança nos primeiros dias a velha Kate reaparece. Simplesmente adoro o vestido e o casaco verdes. Cortes femininos, originais e alegres. Mas detesto o resultado final em Catherine. O casaco não lhe assenta bem, resultando num visual sem forma que o cabelo solto e sem toque especial acaba por arruinar por completo. Péssimo. Acessórios pretos também não foram a melhor opção para este conjunto.
After some hope in the first days, the old Kate was back. I just love the dress and the green coat. Feminine, unique and cheerful cuts. But I hate the end result in Catherine. The coat doesn´t fit her well, resulting in a shapeless look that the loose hair without any special touch ends up ruining altogether. Terrible. Black accessories were also not the best option for this set.

Dia 7 / Day 7

O modelo do vestido não é novo. Anteriormente já tinhamos visto este vestido em rosa pálido em Catherine. A aposta na estilista neo-zelandeza Emilia Wickstead era uma questão de tempo. Adoro tudo neste visual. Tudo com excepção do cabelo. E a minha aparente "implicação" é muito simples por dois motivos: (1)Eu, plebeia e sem toque ou aspiração a sangue azul, se algum dia usasse um chapéu daqueles para um look como este, iria definitivamente fazer algum penteado, principalmente se (2) tivesse um broche emblemático para mostrar e não para ficar escondido entre madeixas de cabelo.

The style of the dress is not new. Previously we had seen this dress in pale pink on Catherine. The choice of the NZ fashion designer Emilia Wickstead was only a matter of time. I love everything about this look. All with the exception of her hair, off course. And my apparent "implication" is very simple for two reasons: (1) Me, a plebeian and without any touch of aspiration for royal blood, if I ever wore a hat like those for a look like this, I would definitely make any hairstyle, especially if (2)  I had an emblematic jewelry for show and not to be hidden in my hair bundles.

No mesmo dia, mais três looks desportivos. A meu ver apenas o do meio se adequa perfeitamente à situação (tirando as skinny jeans, claro!). Os horrendos (para mim) wedges iam causando uma queda à duquesa durante um passeio pelo terreno irregular de uma Vinha. Ela sabia para o que ia...
On the same day, three more sporting looks. In my view only the middle one fits perfectly to the situation (taking off the skinny jeans, of course). The horrendous (for me) wedges were causing a drop to the Duchess during a stroll through the uneven terrain of a Vineyard. She knew where she was going to ...

Dia 8 / Day 8

E eis que quando eu pensava que este tour iria ser mais uma desilusão, a duquesa aparece assim: Elegante, estupenda, clássica, sexy! A reciclar este conjunto vermelho que usou pela primeira vez em 2011, foi a primeira vez em que olhei para Catherine e vi o que ela realmente representa: uma instituição secular na qual ele é mulher e mãe de um futuro monarca e também a jovialidade e esplendor de uma mulher linda e jovem no auge da sua elegância! Venham mais looks destes Kate, por favor!
And behold, when I thought this tour would be a disappointment, the Duchess showed up: Smart, stupendous, classic, sexy! Recycling the red suit first seen in 2011. It was the first time I looked at Catherine and I saw what she really represents: a secular institution in which she is a wife and mother of a future monarch and also the gaiety and splendor of a a beautiful young woman at the height peak of her elegance! Kate more of this,  please!

Day 10 / Day 10

No último dia na Nova Zelândia e antes de embarcar para a Australia, a Duquesa usou este bonito fato tweed de saia e casaco azul, já usado anteriormente.
Com o cabelo semi-apanhado a Duquesa voltou a mostrar que o azul é uma das suas cores de eleição. Gostei deste look feminino e elegante.
On the last day in New Zealand and before embarking for Australia, the Duchess wore this cute tweed skirt suit with matching jacket, previously used. 
With a semi-caught hair style the Duchess showed again that blue is one of her favorite colors. I like this feminine and elegant look.

Até agora já se notam algumas diferenças em relação a outros tours: as bainhas! A duquesa desceu consideravelmente o comprimento dos seus vestidos/casacos/saias. As formas estão mais fit ao corpo, em vez de cortes envasé ou balão.
Por melhor ficam os acessórios que pouco ou nada variam, o conforto em arriscar mais nos penteados e os looks mais casuais.
So far we already notice some differences in relation to other tours: the hemlines! The Duchess considerably decreased the length of their dresses / jackets / skirts. The shapes are fit to the body instead of ballon or envasé cuts.
For future improvements: the accessories that vary little or nothing; risking more in hairstyles and change her casual looks (for not so casual).

Com muitos dias ainda pela frente, esperamos que as boas surpresas se sucedam. O casal encontra-se hoje a gozar um dia de folga antes de abandonarem a Nova Zelândia e iniciaram a visita à Austrália.
With several days still ahead, we hope that the good surprises are succeeding. The couple is today enjoying a day off before leaving New Zealand and started thevisit to Australia.
