No final de uma semana cansativa, estava decidido que tenho dois posts para fazer: um sobre as sessões fotográficas de Verão das várias casas reais (estou à espera que hoje seja a vez da casa real dinamarquesa para depois fazer uma compilação) e também estava decidido que, no seguimento da Inauguração dos novos Reis dos belgas, hoje iria falar sobre uma jóia belga!

Grande Problema! Sabem, a casa real belga é das mais modestas em termos de jóias e geralmente não existe muita informação acerca delas. Podia falar da Tiara das Nove Províncias, que é a única tiara da Casa real que é usada apenas por Rainhas. Mas já falei dela na minha rubrica Rasto de Tiaras Parte 1. Por falar nisso, foram divulgados retratos oficiais dos novos Reis, e Mathilde está a usar esta tiara na versão bandeau pela primeira vez.

Por isso decidi falar de uma peça, uma tiara sim, que muitos de vós podem não conhecer, pois há mais de 10 anos que não é vista.

Tiara Presente de Casamento da Rainha Fabiola/ Queen Fabiola's Spanish Wedding Gift Tiara

Pouco se sabe acerca desta tiara, tipicamente ducal, que foi oferecida à Dona Fabiola de Mora y Aragon pelo Governo Espanhol (aka General Franco) aquando do casamento da nobre espanhola com o Rei Baudoin I dos Belgas. A peça foi oferecida pela esposa do General.

Little is known about this ducal coronet styled-tiara, except it was presented in 1960 to Dona Fabiola de Mora y Aragon by the Spanish government when she married King Baudouin I of Belgium, and that she received it from General Franco's wife.

A semelhança desta tiara com a tiara usada pela Duquesa de Medinaceli, sugere que está peça poderá ter pertencido a eles, e pode ter sido usada como pagamento ao estado, na sequência da morte de Luis Fernandez Cordoba Y Salabert, 17º Duque em 1956. Outra versão sugere que o Duque ofereceu esta peça a um Convento em Madrid, e que terá sido descoberta pelas tropas de Franco durante a Guerra Civil. Ainda segundo esta versão, especula-se que as freiras do convento terão vendido os rubis e esmeraldas da tiara, substituindo as gemas por pedras sintéticas. Tal facto só teria sido descoberto quando a tiara já estava na posse de Fabiola.

In style, some have suggested that the tiara could have belonged to the dukes of Medinaceli, and that the jewel could have been used to pay to the State a portion of the inheritance tax following the death of Luis Fernandez Cordoba y Salabert, the 17th duke, in 1956. Others have assumed that the duke had graciously offered it to the nuns of a convent in Madrid which was finally looted by General Franco's troops during the civil war. Another mystery concerns the "rubies" and "emeralds" which can adorn the finials : the nuns would have sold them to meet their needs, and then replaced with synthetic stones. Supposedly this was not discovered until the tiara was in Fabiola's possession.

No seu formato completo, a tiara possui folhas de diamantes e ornamentos florais separados por pérolas redondas e assentes numa base bastante alta. Uma tiara menor pode ser criada, apenas com o rearranjo dos elementos das folhas apenas na base, criando uma tiara floral.

In its full format, the tiara has leaves of diamonds and floral ornaments separated by round pearls and based on a very high base. A smaller tiara can be created only with the rearrangement of the elements of the leaves only at the base, creating a floral tiara.

É mais uma tiara que é bastante versátil, o que dá jeito numa casa onde as tiaras não abundam. Os rubis centrais podem ser substituídos por esmeraldas ou águas-marinhas. Além da tiara menor, as peças podem ser retirados e usadas com pendentes num colar.

The interest of the tiara is also its large versatility : besides the fact that rubies can be replaced by emeralds or aquamarines. Besides the smaller tiara the pieaces can be detached and used as pendants on a necklace.

A última vez que a tiara foi vista foi em 2000 e 2001 durante as visitas de Estado de Espanha e Suécia. A tiara trata-se de uma propriedade pessoal e não faz parte das Jóias da Coroa Belga, logo muitos se perguntam o que irá acontecer a esta peça, após a morte da Fabiola. A ideia da criação de uma Fundação que iria gerir a fortuna pessoa da rainha após a sua morte, levantou muita contestação, levando a que Fabiola desistisse da ideia. Portanto fica o mistério se algum dia voltaremos a ver esta tiara na cabeça de uma rainha belga.

The last time this was worn as a tiara was in 2000 and 2001, during state visits from Spain and Sweden. The tiara is Fabiola's personal property and is not part of the Belgian Crown Jewels, so many wonder what will happen to this piece after the death of Fabiola. The idea of ​​creating a foundation that would manage the private fortune of the queen after her death, gave rise to much dispute, leading to Fabiola gave up the idea. So it´s a good question if someday we will come back to see this tiara on the head of a Belgian queen.
