conjunto de pequenos acessórios da Casa Real Holandesa que eu acho bastante
originais e até bastante bonitos.
Today I will talk about a set of small accessories from the Dutch Royal House that I find quite unique and very beautiful.
A Rainha Emma da Holanda possuía uma
magnífica colecção de broches com diamantes e outras pedras preciosas coloridas
em forma de insectos. Não se sabe bem se todos estes broches pertenceram à
Rainha Emma ou se terão sido adquiridos ao longo dos tempos.
Este tipo de broches esteve muito em
moda no fim do século XIX e eram vulgarmente usados em chapéus. No caso dos
broches pertencentes à Rainha Emma é muito provável que se tratem de criações
do joalheiro Mellerio dits Meller
Queen Emma of the Netherlands had a magnificent collection of insect motif brooches with diamonds and other colored gemstones. It is not clear if all these brooches belonged to Queen Emma or may have been acquired over time.
Such brooches were very fashionable in the late nineteenth century and were commonly used in hats. In the case of these brooches belonging to Queen Emma is very likely to be creations from the jeweler Mellerio dits Meller
A Rainha Juliana e as princesas
Irene e Margriet, mãe e irmãs de Beatrix muitas vezes ousaram e usaram estas peças de
joalharia no cabelo como uma Aigrette. Pessoalmente
gosto mais de ver estes alfinetes como broches.
Queen Juliana and princesses Irene and Margriet, Beatrix's mother and sisters, often dared to wear these pieces of jewelery in the hair as a Aigrette. Personally I prefer the brooche version.
Da colecção original sabe-se que fazem parte dois broches em forma de
borboleta com esmeraldas e um outro com esmeraldas e rubis. O alfinete em forma
de libélula com rubis também pertenceu à Rainha Emma.
Existem ainda dois broches em forma de abelha, cada um com três esmeraldas
ou safiras e uma discreta mariposa com esmeraldas e diamantes.
The original collection is known that includes two butterfly brooches with emeralds and one with emeralds and rubies. The dragonfly with rubies also belonged to Queen Emma.

Recentemente apareceram dois
broches de maiores dimensões que se pensa terem sido oferta durante alguma
visita de estado. Um é uma mariposa com diamantes nas suas asas e outro uma
Borboleta com diamantes e opala. Muito provavelmente quem ofereceu estas peças
conhecia a colecção de alfinetes em forma de insectos da Casa de Orange e quis
dar um contributo. ;)
Recently two larger brooches were added to the collection, which may be a gift from some State Visit. A huge moth with diamonds in its wings and other butterfly with diamonds and opal. Most likely those who offered these pieces knew about the dutch insect motif collection of the House of Orange and wanted to make a contribution.;)
