Ontem a Suécia assistiu em peso ao casamento da sua Princesa Madeleine com o economista Christopher O'Neill na Capela do Palácio Real em Estocolmo.

Yesterday Sweden watched the marriage of Princess Madeleine with the economist Christopher O'Neill in the Chapel of the Royal Palace in Stockholm.

A expectativa era grande após a confirmação oficial de que o autor do vestido de noiva seria Valentino, que inclusive assistiu à cerimónia.

Assim sendo vamos concentrar-mo-nos hoje no look na noiva que surpreendeu em vários aspectos.

There were big expectations after the official confirmation that the author of the dress would be Valentino, who also attended the ceremony.

Therefore we will focus today on the look at the bride that surprised us in many ways.

Madde, doce Madde / Madde, sweet Madde

Assim que soube que seria Valentino a desenhar o vestido, soube que poderíamos esperar romantismo, renda e bordados. O que se confirmou assim que Madeleine apareceu de braço dado com o seu pai, o Rei Carl Gustav XVI da Suécia.

When I knew that Valentino would design the dress, I knew we could expect romance, lace and embroidery. And that was what we saw in the moment that Madeleine appeared on the arm of her father, King Carl XVI Gustav of Sweden.

O vestido feito em seda organza tinha aplicações em renda Chantilly em tom marfim. A parte superior era totalmente em renda, com mangas curtas, decote à barco que terminava num V profundo nas costas. Painéis de tecido bordado abriam desde a cintura formando uma saia ampla que culminava numa cauda de 4 metros de comprimento.

Madeleine optou por não usar o mesmo véu que a irmã e que a mãe, e também foi criado por Valentino um véu em seda organza que tinha nas extremidades pequenos bordados com a forma de flor de laranjeira em tule e renda Chantilly. Os sapatos bastante altos por sinal, eram revestidos em organdim marfim.

The wedding dress is made from pleated silk organza with appliquéd ivory-coloured Chantilly lace. The upper section of the bodice is lace with a deep-cut back. Narrow vertical pleats open up from the accentuated waist, above the wide skirt, which ends with a four-metre-long train.

Madeleine chose not to wear the same veil that her mother and sister did on their weeding day, and her veil was also made by Valentino.The veil is also silk organza, and is edged with tulle scatted with point d'esprit dots and small Chantilly lace orange blossom. The Princess's shoes, with very hight heels, were ivory white organdy with woven point d'esprit dots.

A Princesa também surpreendeu pela escolha de jóias.

Muitos apostavam que Madeleine iria optar pela Tiara dos Camafeus, mas tal como o véu, também a tiara fugiu á tradição matriomonial sueca.

The Princess also surprised by the choice of jewelry.

Many were betting that Madeleine would opt for the Cameo Tiara, but like the veil, the tiara also fled to the matriomonial Swedish tradition.

A princesa optou pela Modern Fringe Tiara. A tiara mais usada por Madeleine enquanto solteira. Demorei a identificar a peça, ao seguir a cerimónia porque me parecia muito alta. A explicação está no facto da princesa ter adornado o cabelo com flores de laranjeira, sobre os quais assentava a base da tiara. 

Madeleine também usou uns brincos de diamantes conhecidos como os "Brincos Vasa" porque pertenceram à Princesa Viktoria de Baden, descendente da antiga dinastia Vasa que foi a dinastia reinante da Suécia de 1523-1654. A princesa usou ainda uma bonita pulseira de diamantes e o seu anel de noivado.

The princess opted for the Modern Fringe Tiara. The tiara Madeleine wore more often while she was single. It took me time to identify the piece, during the follow of the ceremony because it seemed too high. The explanation lies in the fact that Princess have adorned her hair with orange blossoms, on which rested the base of the tiara.

Madeleine also wore a pair of diamond earrings known as the "Vasa Earrings" because they belonged to Princess Viktoria of Baden, a descendant of the ancient Vasa dynasty which was the ruling dynasty of Sweden from 1523 to 1654. The princess wore also a beautiful diamond bracelet and her engagement ring.

O bouquet foi o único elemento (conhecido) que respeitou uma tradição. Em forma redonda, consistia em flores brancas tradicionais entre as quais rosas e lírio do vale, bem como ramo de murta. Este último tem um significado especial que remonta a 1905 quando a Princesa Margareta do Reino Unido casou com o Príncipe Gustaf Adolf. Na altura Margareta levou para a Suécia um arbusto de murta. O arbusto cresceu e desde 1935 que os seus ramos têm sido usados para os bouquets de várias noivas reais suecas. Uma tradição que também foi levada para a Dinamarca quando a Princesa Ingrid da Suécia casou com o Príncipe da coroa dinamarquesa.

The bouquet was the only element (known) who respected tradition. In round shape, consisted of white flowers including traditional roses and lily of the valley, as well as a branch of myrtle. This branch has a special meaning that goes back to 1905 when Princess Margareta of United Kingdom married Prince Gustaf Adolf. Margareta took to Sweden a bush of myrtle. The bush has grown and since 1935  its branches have been used for several bridal Swedish bouquets.  A tradition that was also taken to Denmark when Princess Ingrid of Sweden married the Danish Crown Prince.

A cerimónia, proferida em inglês e sueco, foi bastante emotiva deixando bem patente o imenso carinho e amor que une este novo casal real. Chris emocionou-se por diversas vezes. Já a noiva estava aparentemente mais calma, mas ainda assim visivelmente radiante.

The ceremony spoken in english and swedish, was quite emotional leaving very clear the immense affection and love that unites this new royal couple. Chris was moved several times. The bride was apparently quieter, but still visibly radiant.

À saída os noivos foram aclamados por centenas de populares e o tão ansiado beijo foi visto...3 ou 4 vezes!!

On leaving the newlyweds were acclaimed by hundreds of popular and a long-awaited kiss was seen ... 3 or 4 times!

Após a saída da Capela, o casal percorreu as ruas de carruagem.

After leaving the chapel, the couple toured the streets by carriage.

Á chegada ao Palácio Drottningholm, onde seria servido o banquete, fotografias de grupo oficiais foram tiradas.

Upon arrival at the Drottningholm Palace, where the banquet would be served, official group photos were taken.

Christopher foi agraciado pelo sogro, a 6 de Junho com a Real Ordem da Estrela Polar. No dia do casamento ele usou a cruz da Insígnia. Apesar da ausência de Título Real, foi-lhe concedido o grau de Cavaleiro da segunda Ordem de Mérito mais importante da Suécia.

Christopher was awarded by his father-in-law, on 6 June with the Royal Order of the Polar Star. On the wedding day he used to cross of the Insignia. Despite the absence a royal title, he was awarded the rank of Knight of the second most important militar order in Sweden.

A festa arrastou-se pela madrugada e infelizmente foram tiradas fotografias que facilmente poderão encontrar pela internet mas que por se tratarem de fotografias não oficiais, eu não publicarei aqui. 

Posso no entanto dizer que a noiva mudou de roupa e usou um vestido Nina Ricci em tule já usado em actos oficiais pela Rainha Sílvia. Madeleine manteve a tiara mas soltou o cabelo, num visual descontraído para a festa do seu casamento.

The party lasted until dawn and unfortunately photographs were taken that could easily find on the internet but because they are not official photos, I won´t post them here.

I can however say that the bride changed clothes and wore a Nina Ricci dress in tulle already used in official acts by Queen Silvia. Madeleine kept the tiara but let hair down in a relaxed look for her wedding party.

Foi uma cerimónia linda, emocionante e que me pareceu muito ao estilo de Madeleine, simples e romântica. Adorei a entrada da noiva, talvez uma das mais originais de sempre em que várias crianças da Childhood Foundation, na qual a princesa trabalha, formaram um cordão para a entrada da noiva. Adorei esta inclusão no momento que estas crianças, de certo não esquecerão.

O vestido não sendo o meu vestido de noiva real favorito, era perfeito para o estilo da noiva e enquandrava-se perfeitamente em toda a decoração da cerimónia. Fiquei contente por Madde não ter optado pela Cameo, porque duvidava que aquela tiara a favorecesse. E adorei os brincos!

Chriis, esse sim, surpreendeu-me. Muitos apelidam Chris de uma pessoa fria, que quase nunca sorri. Eu mesma tive esses pensamentos. Mas sabem o que vi neste dia? Um homem completamente apaixonado pela sua Princesa. Um homem emocionado, nervoso, que não parava de tocar, beijar e olhar para a sua noiva.

Alguém que perdeu completamente a sua timidez assim que abandonou a capela e apareceu para o mundo, completamente transformado e tremendamente FELIZ!!

It was a beautiful ceremony, exciting and it seemed very much like Madeleine herself, simple and romantic. I loved the entrance of the bride, perhaps one of the most unique ever, when several children of Childhood Foundation, in which the princess works, formed a cordon to the entrance of the bride. Loved this inclusion, a moment that these children, certainly won´t ever forget.

The dress is not my favorite royal wedding dress, it was perfect for the style of the bride and matched perfectly into the decor and atmosphere of the ceremony. I'm glad she didn´t wear the Cameo because I doubted that tiara will favor her. And i loved that earrings. 

Chris, he did surprised me. Many thought Chris as a cold person, who almost never smiles. I had these same thoughts. But you know what I saw yesterday? A man completely in love with his Princess. A man excited, nervous, who couldn´t stop touching, kissing and looking for his bride.

Someone who has completely lost his shyness when they left the chapel and appeared to the world, completely transformed  and tremendously HAPPY!

Peço desculpa pela demora na publicação, mas o tempo não foi muito. 

Brevemente a análise do look das convidadas. Tivemos bastante surpresas e...desilusões.
