#Verão2019 - Dinamarca (Parte 2) / #Summer2019 - Denmark (Part 2)

As I had anticipated, the Danish royal family provided us with several moments of the Crown Prince Couple family vacation, shared over the last few days on social media. Frederik, Mary, and their four children, Christian, Isabella, Vincent, and Josephine spent most of their holidays in Denmark at Graasten Palace, the official summer residence of the Danish Royal Family. Here family and friends spent their days practicing horse riding lessons, playing tennis, boating, visiting Legoland and playing on Skagen Beach. After a brief stay in France at Cayx Castle, where they were photographed at the local market, the family returned to Denmark to fulfill a beautiful holiday tradition for the third year in a row.

"Again this year we have taken our four children on an adventure in Denmark on the Royal Yacht Dannebrog.
Today we tried our hand at blowing glass at the working workshop Backhaus-Brown & Glassmedjen, and then we also visited the carpentry workshop Egeværk. We were also past the polar scientist Knud Rasmussen's home. My husband could tell many stories about him to the children. It was a lovely day."

It was with this caption and photographs taken by Crown Princess Mary that the royal house announced another unofficial family visit to various locations in Denmark aboard the royal yacht. A visit that kept many adventures. Proof of this were the photographs released at the second stop in Kongsøre. This is where the Amphibious Commands unit is located. The Crown Prince took part of his military training here and the whole family was invited to test their skills in several training exercises.

"Today's stop on our voyage on the Royal Yacht was in Kongsøre, where the Frogman Corps is located. This is where I took my education as frogman, and today I had the pleasure of showing the whole family my former workplace. It was a great experience to go out in the terrain with the family, find objects using maps, try the obstacles on the obstacle course and finally free play in the water. A day it will take long to forget."

Given Frederik's great pride in his military training and the great taste of the whole family for sport, it is not difficult to agree with the Crown Prince's statement. It seems the kids loved the experience. A wonderful photograph of Frederik and Mary was shared later in the day.

I love our Mary in vacation mode !!
I also love these initiatives which, while not entirely private, give young royal members the opportunity to get to know their country and its citizens in a very relaxed, didactic and very close way. Moreover, what better way to promote national tourism than to have the royal family itself make known places of interest in Denmark?

"Today, the Royal Ship Dannebrog cast anchor at Læsø, where we spent the first part of the day exploring the beautiful island of the Kattegat. First we set out on the island's Tanghus route, where fascinating houses with seaweed roofs help to give Læsø its distinctive character. Along the way, we heard about the various seaweed houses that arose because Læsø lacked straw for the roofs. That is why eelgrass was used, and here several hundred years later many of the roofs still hold. They do this, among other things, because of the great salt effect that the eelgrass had when it lay in the sea. Later we visited Læsø Saltsyderi, where the island's old tradition of souring salt is maintained."

And it was in Læsø that the family adventure ended. Frederik and Mary thanked everyone for the great hospitality they received along the way during a wonderful and very educational week. For the whole family it was fantastic to experience Denmark in its most varied forms and places.
Dannebrog returns to Copenhagen  and the family resumes their official schedule this week.
