Rituais e Personagens por descobrir quando o Japão visitou o Butão / Rituals and Characters to meet when Japan visited Bhutan

Uma das coisas que tenho pena de não falar mais aqui no blog é sobre as monarquias mais orientais. Escrevo um post ou outro, mas a verdade é que não me esforço no sentido de aprender mais, pesquisar ou procurar mais informação sobre eles. Com a aproximação da cerimónia de entronização do novo Imperador e Imperatriz do Japão no próximo mês de Outubro, a verdade é que quero trazer esta monarquia mais a este espaço. Uma nova Era começou num Japão de contrastes e numa corte com muitas particularidades. Quero aprender mais sobre eles e partilhar convosco o que for descobrindo pelo caminho. Mas não só sobre o Japão. Quero dar destaque a mais monarquias por aqui.

One of the things I feel sorry about is not write enough about the eastern monarchies. I write a post or another, but the truth is that I don't try hard enough to learn, search and find more informations about them. With the approach of the enthronement ceremony of the new Emperor and Empress of Japan next October, the truth is that I want to bring this monarchy more into this space. A new era began in a contrasting Japan in the middle of a court with many particularities. I want to learn more about them and share with you whatever I discover along the way. But not just about Japan. I want to highlight more monarchies around here.

Com a subida ao trono de um novo Imperador e Imperatriz, temos também um novo casal herdeiro: O Príncipe da Coroa Fumihito, segundo filho do Imperador emérito Akihito e irmão do actual imperador Naruhito e a sua esposa, a Princesa da Coroa Kiko. Recentemente o casal imperial, também conhecidos como Príncipe e Princesa de Akishino acompanhados pelo seu filho o Príncipe Hisahito (segundo na linha de sucessão ao trono) estiveram em visita privada de 10 dias ao Butão a convite do Rei Jigme Khesar. Várias fotos foram divulgadas pela ocasião o que me faz sempre reflectir sobre estas culturas tão diferentes da nossa.

With the rise to the throne of a new Emperor and Empress, we also have a new Crown Couple: Crown Prince Fumihito, second son of the  Emperor Emeritus Akihito and brother of current emperor Naruhito and his wife, Crown Princess Kiko. Recently the imperial couple, also known as Prince and Princess of Akishino accompanied by their son Prince Hisahito (second in line to the throne) were on a private 10-day visit to Bhutan at the invitation of King Jigme Khesar. Several photos were released for the occasion which always makes me reflect on these cultures so different from ours.

No Oriente tudo é simbolismo. Tudo tem um propósito, um significado. Uma simples visita privada é um ritual vivido com o devido respeito. Naquele que é considerado o país da felicidade, o casal imperial japonês e o seu filho de 12 anos foram recebidos pelo Rei e Rainha Jetsun Pema (conhecida pelo titulo Gyaltsuen) na Sala de Trono Dourada no mosteiro Tashichhodzong e posteriormente almoçaram no Palácio Lingkana.

In the East everything is symbolism. Everything has a purpose, a meaning. A simple private visit is a ritual lived with due respect. In what is considered the land of happiness, the Japanese imperial couple and their 12-year-old son were greeted by King and Queen Jetsun Pema (known by the title Gyaltsuen) in the Golden Throne Room at the Tashichhodzong monastery and later had lunch at Lingkana Palace.

Vestidos com os trajes tradicionais dos respectivos países, com excepção de Fumihito que usou um fato, convidados e anfitriões transbordavam serenidade e cor numa combinação perfeita com o cenário que os rodeava.

Dressed in the traditional costumes of their countries, with the exception of Fumihito who wore a suit, guests and hosts overflowed with serenity and color in a perfect combination with the surrounding setting.

Quem também esteve presente neste encontro foi o único filho do Rei e Rainha do Butão, Jigme Namgyel, 3 anos, conhecido como o Druk Gyalsey ( "Príncipe Dragão") do Butão. O encontro entre estes dois meninos, unidos por um destino comum, ficou registado numa fotografia ímpar.

Also present at this meeting was the only son of the King and Queen of Bhutan, Jigme Namgyel, 3, known as Druk Gyalsey ("Dragon Prince") of Bhutan. The meeting between these two boys, united by a common destiny, was recorded in an iconic photograph.

Ás vezes sinto-me muito amedrontada e revoltada por coisas que não consigo compreender. A questão sucessória no Japão é uma delas. Outras vezes sinto-me completamente fascinada por estas culturas e costumes tão distantes, tão misteriosos, tão dificieis de assimilar. Mas sabem que mais? Vou escrever mais sobre eles. 

Sometimes I feel very frightened and disgusted by things I cannot understand. The succession issue in Japan is one of them. Other times I am completely fascinated by these cultures and customs so distant, so mysterious, so difficult to assimilate. But you know what? I will write more about them.

Até porque, de certa forma, sinto um apelo para me debruçar mais sobre estas personagens. Para as conhecer melhor. Para terem uma ideia, a fotografia acima retrata a Procissão Chipdrel que escoltou a familia imperial até ao Dzong (construção típica dos reinos budistas do Himalaias, particularmente do Butão, que tem as funções simultâneas de centro religioso, militar, burocrático e administrativo de determinada região). Esta cerimónia simboliza a purificação do caminho através do qual os visitantes são conduzidos. Neste ritual de purificação participam músicos, cantores, dançarinos..Tudo é um ritual!
Especially because, in a way, I feel an appeal to dwell more on these characters. To know them better. To give you an idea, the photograph above shows the Chipdrel Procession which escorted the imperial family to the Dzong (typical construction of the Himalayan Buddhist kingdoms, particularly Bhutan, which has the simultaneous functions of a religious, military, bureaucratic and administrative center of a given region. ). This ceremony symbolizes the purification of the path through which visitors are led. In this purification ritual participates musicians, singers, dancers... Everything is a ritual.
