Foi um ano difícil para a família real dinamarquesa com a morte do Príncipe Henrik em Fevereiro. Mas se há coisa que esta família não abdica é da felicidade e as celebrações dos 50 anos do Príncipe da Coroa Frederik deram-nos muitas alegrias e isso incluiu grandes momentos para a nossa Mary que, em mais um ano, me arranca sorrisos (e suspiros) em praticamente todas as aparições.
It was a difficult year for the Danish royal family with the death of Prince Henrik in February. But if there is one thing that this family does not abdicate is happiness and the celebrations of the 50th birthday of Crown Prince Frederik have given us many joys and this included great moments for our Mary who, in another year, takes me many smiles (and sighs) in practically every apparition.

Best of 2018 - Victoria

Voltámos depois do Natal para a continuação dos Best of do último ano. Se Mathilde esteve 98% das vezes bem em 2018, o contrário poderia ser dito da Princesa da Coroa da Suécia. Victoria é uma querida, mas eu tive sérias, MUITO sérias dificuldades em escolher apenas um look mau e ainda agora fico na dúvida se houve algum look diurno do qual tenha realmente gostado neste último ano. We came back after Christmas for the continuation of the Best of last year. If Mathilde was 98% of the time sucessful in 2018, the opposite could be said of the Crown Princess of Sweden. Victoria is a darling, but I had serious, VERY serious difficulties in choosing only a bad look and I'm in doubt if there was any daytime look that I really liked this past year.

Best of 2018 - Letizia

Mais um ano que passou e mais certezas tenho que a nossa Rainha de Espanha está comprometida em tornar a minha vida difícil nesta altura do ano. Ame-se ou odeie-se Letizia, a verdade é que a consorte espanhola dá cartas na hora de vestir. Com mais ou menos ousadia, Letizia nunca nos aborrece e é de longe a dama real com a melhor maquilhagem e com um cabeleireiro fantástico. Another year that passed and more sure I am that our Queen of Spain is committed to making my life difficult at this time of year. No matter if you love or hate Letizia, the truth is that the Spanish consort has a fashion sense. With more or less daring, Letizia never bores us and she is, by far, the royal lady with the best makeup artist and a fantastic hairdresser of all Land.

Voltamos hoje com uma menina que me surpreendeu este ano, pois juro-vos que não consigo imaginar um look terrivel para a Rainha dos Belgas em 2018. Muito pelo contrário. Mathilde não mudou drasticamente de estilo, mas errou menos. E deslumbrou mais. Muito mais!! We came back today with a lady who surprised me this year because I swear to you that I can not imagine a terrible look for the Queen of Belgians in 2018. Quite the contrary. Mathilde did not change drastically in style, but she made less mistakes. And she dazzled more. A lot more!!

Best of 2018 - Máxima

Até parece mentira. 2018 está a chegar ao fim, e com ele vem uma rubrica que já é uma tradição no T&T. Já sabem o ritual, certo? Três categorias e muito esforço de memória para falar sobre o melhor e o pior do ano para as Rainhas e Princesas da Coroa que acompanho mais de perto ( e algumas menções honrosas, no final, para outros membros da realeza. Não fiquem nervosos!!) Começamos hoje com a Consorte da Holanda. I just can't believe it's true. 2018 is coming to an end, and with it comes a feature that is already a tradition in T & T. You know the ritual, right? Ora bem depois da Cerimónia da entrega dos Prémios Nobel 2018 na passada segunda-feira, o esplendor sueco tem sempre continuação no dia seguinte, com um Banquete oferecido pelo Rei Carl Gustaf para os laureados no Palácio Real. O evento começa com uma Recepção onde os membros da família real presentes cumprimentam os vencedores deste ano e respectivos familiares. Well after the Nobel Prize Ceremony 2018 last Monday, the Swedish splendor always continues the next day with a banquet offered by King Carl Gustaf for the laureates at the Royal Palace. The event begins with a Reception where the members of the royal family present greet the winners of this year and their families.

Conhecido pelo Banquete do Rei, este jantar, servido na Galeria Karl XI,  é uma tradição que remonta a 1904 e tem lugar todos os anos a 11 de Dezembro. Entre royal watchers quando falamos "na época mais maravilhosa do ano", estamos, obviamente, a referir-nos a Dezembro e não é pelo Natal (embora, esta festividade seja um bónus). Dizemos isso porque é quando decorre a Cerimónia de Entrega dos Prémios Nobel em Oslo e Estocolmo. E embora o nosso foco seja no brilho das jóias e na beleza dos vestidos, esta cerimónia mostra-nos ano após ano, bem mais do que isso.
Among royal watchers when we refer to "the most wonderful time of the year", we are obviously referring to December and it is not because of Christmas (although this holiday is a bonus). We say this because it is when the Nobel Prize Ceremony takes place in Oslo and Stockholm. And although our focus is on the brilliance of the jewels and the beauty of the dresses, this ceremony shows us year after year, much more than that.
