#RIPZiggy

Ontem, os royal watchers no geral e os fãs da família real dinamarquesa em particular foram apanhados de surpresa com a noticia partilhada no Instagram que Ziggy, a cadela border collie da Família do Príncipe da Coroa da Dinamarca tinha morrido no passado Domingo.

Yesterday, the royal watchers in general and fans of the Danish royal family in particular were caught by surprise with the news shared on the Instagram that Ziggy, the border collie dog of the Crown Prince Family of Denmark had died last Sunday.

I søndags sagde Kronprinsfamilien farvel til deres højtelskede hund Ziggy. Hunden har været en del af familien de sidste 12 år og var en bryllupsgave til Kronprinsparret. Ziggy var en trofast og kærlig hund, som desværre led af kronisk nyresvigt og slidgigt. På trods af dette var livskvaliteten høj til det sidste. Billedet er taget i søndags. 📸 H.K.H. A fotografia, captada pela Princesa da Coroa Mary, mostra a simpática Ziggy no último dia de vida. Segundo o comunicado a cadela de 12 anos sofria de insuficiência renal e osteoartritite. Apesar disso Ziggy desfrutou sempre de uma excelente qualidade de vida até ao fim.

The photograph, captured by Crown Princess Mary, shows the friendly Ziggy on the last day of her life. According to the statement the 12-year-old dog suffered from kidney failure and osteoarthritis. In spite of this Ziggy always enjoyed an excellent quality of life until the end.

Sempre vi Ziggy como o primeiro filho de Frederik e Mary. A cadela foi um presente de casamento oferecida ao casal em 2005. Originalmente chamada Jezabel, Ziggy foi reabatizada por Mary e desde então é uma presença constante na vida da família, sendo frequente vê-la tanto em fotografias oficiais como em passeios e tarefas do dia-a-dia. 

I have always seen Ziggy as Frederik and Mary's first child. The dog was a wedding present offered to the couple in 2005. Originally called Jezebel, Ziggy was re-baptized by Mary and since then has been a constant presence in the family's life, often seen in official photographs as well as in daily life moments.

Ao longo dos últimos 12 anos Ziggy foi sempre uma grande companhia e com certeza deixará saudades em todos aqueles que contaram com a sua presença desde sempre. Eu incluída!

Over the last 12 years Ziggy has always been a great company and will surely be missed by all those who are used to her presence since always. Myself included!
